After some delays, the camp wide talent show is finally set to go. Or, as Annabeth would call it, CHB Factor, complete with three guests judges to give critique a la the standard reality competition. In the arena is a big stage with the judges’ table off to the side, with seats for Juniper, Mr. D, and Tai. And technically only one of them is actually equipped to do any real judging, but the other two are around to keep the mood light. The performers have a backstage area to prepare themselves for an afternoon of entertainment, leave their instruments or other various props they might need during the show.

The Emcee of the evening is Gabriel Novak. (Much to Annabeth’s chagrin, though she did agree that he would be a more entertaining choice than, well, herself.) She also would like to thank Jason for the idea and Merlin for his rounding up efforts, particularly for a few “secret” performances on the way. This seems to be a good cross-pantheon effort and the excitement in the air is tangible. One can’t help but be proud of their community for coming together for both the good and the bad.

There will be a nice after party after the show, which includes the standard dinner set up buffet style in the middle of camp as well as a large chocolate fountain surrounded by fruits, cakes, and other things to dip into the melted sweet stuff.

[Feuilly's not particularly talented, but like hell he's going to miss watching the others here perform. For the moment, he's hanging out in the audience, the claps from the current performance dying away.

The greeks DO know how to throw a party. Anyone who wants to bump into him is totally welcome to, of course.]

Is it bad I'm actually disappointed no one has completely sucked, yet?

Nah. [Feuilly's grin is kind of broad there.]

I think that's half the point of these things for a lot of people. It's like karaoke night or something. People really show up for the chaos factor, you know?

Exactly. So in this case, I feel cheated. [he laughs]

Maybe I should get up and sing and reset the balance of the universe...

[...nah.]

Yeah?

[The thought of that is somehow hilarious.]

You do, and I'll join you. [And that's a hint of his tongue sticking out at you, Tony.]

[There is a devious grin spreading across Tony's face.]

Know anything good? Like, Don't Stop Believing levels of horrendously overdone?

[He waggles his eyebrows before he busts up laughing]

Journey? [And there's a eyebrow raise right back as Feuilly snickers.] That probably WOULD qualify us for the gong right there. Do they have a gong? I feel like it should be demanded or created.

Hey, it was that or Pat Benetar, but I don't think even we could pull that off. [Still grinning like an idiot, though.]

Wait, there's no gong? What the hell is this injustice?! If I'm going to be ousted from the stage, it's going to be in style...

Mm yeah, we'd definitely struggle on that count. [It's almost challenge enough to make it happen. But not QUITE. Feuilly isn't prepared to go that far.]

I know, right? Clearly, this is why we need to protest.

[the_futurist]

I dunno, we could maybe pull off a little [and suddenly he's singing, and it's not terrible, but he's clearly not trying to be anything other than loud] WE ARE STRONG! NO ONE CAN TELL US WE'RE WROOOOONG-- [and he will no doubt continue unless Feuilly stops him please stop him]

[Oh come on. Egged on by that? There is only one acceptable response, and really, Feuilly should have just entered weeks ago to reenact the Argument Clinic sketch because well, what's a key? What do you do do with those? The sound of music this clearly isn't, and any Apollo kids nearby, along with those with any hint of good taste are probably cringing. Or dead.]

SEARCHIN OUR HEARTS FOR SO LONG

[And then he's swaying as well, and trying not to die laughing. It's probably really good that no one's actually on stage at the moment.]

[Tony just grins and doesn't even miss a beat carrying on]

BOTH OF US KNOWING...

[And he's watching Feuilly closely, who better join in and not let him down on this last line, belted out with all the necessary exaggerated emotion:]

LOVE IS A BATTLEFIELD!

[And now he's outright cackling, tears in his eyes.]

[Oh as if Feuilly would be doing anything BUT joining in on that. He's not one to leave Tony to finish ALL by himself here. That would be wrong. It would be against an unspoken code. Which means he's very enthusiastically joining in, and then collapsing back into his seat, gasping for breath.]

We ARE pretty amazing.

[the_futurist]

[Tony throws his hands in the air, then bows elaborately to any who were unfortunate enough to have witnessed the masterpiece of their performance, before collapses into a seat beside Feuilly.]

I suppose we're doing everyone else a favor by abstaining from the competition. Let someone else have a chance at glory. This time.

Until we host the all camp perpetual motion art machines contest of course. It's really only fair, I guess, given we'd sweep that one.

[the_futurist]

[And there's a wicked grin on his face yet again. It seems to be making a permanent residence.]

Yeah, no, that we own.

[polishfan]

[This is fine with Feuilly, really. He's probably spent most of his life being too good. It's time for a little wickedness to slip in under the radar.]

Definitely. We should actually make that a thing.

[the_futurist]

[Tony rubs his hands together and laughs, but one look in his eyes would show he's actually running through the details, partly of how to get the ball rolling on said contest, and partly exactly how he'd win it. Or his cabin, rather, if it's limited to such.]

Best idea I've heard in a while. Think anyone else would go for it?

I'd bet we could get the Athena kids in on it. They're probably our major competition, actually. Not too sure about the others, but then again. We're pretty varied. I'd say it's worth bringing up.
