[She'd set down her dishes to the side somewhere as she watched him, arms folding in front of her protectively as they often did when she was faced with things she didn't understand or didn't like. This fell into both of those categories. She had promised herself that she wouldn't ruin this evening and yet somehow here they were starting a fight. She bit her lip, arms wrapping around herself tighter.
