Who: The entire camp + special guests.
What: Wolves have broken through the camp barriers!
When: Late Wednesday January 29 into early morning on January 30
Where: Various camp locations.
Why: Some canines think they can show Camp Half-Blood who's boss.

It starts with a scream.

The evening harpies, better known as camp's alert system for kids who are out past curfew, have some news for everyone, flying through the camp and shrieking through cabin doors to wake everyone up if they're asleep. (Unless, of course, you're untrained and too young or incapable of fighting tonight. Demeter cabin will be your place of refuge.) After the first call to duty, campers have risen to the occasion with their various plans and promises, patrolling the border and building weapons specifically for their new enemies. The Full Moon passed with only a few howls, much to the surprise of many.

No, these wolves have other plans for the New Moon. Aligned with Gaea and followers of Lycaron, they're a group of six renegades looking for a show and perhaps a tasty snack. One of them just so happens to be in the business of fussing with the Mist, undoing someone's hard work to let in her comrades.

They've got bared teeth, blood on their nails, and a penchant for chaos. Camp, it's time to wake up.

Hey, you think like that, and you're already letting them win.

[He's looking back, his own gaze steady.]

I have, actually. The Battle of Brooklyn House. Vlad the Inhaler, no, seriously, that's one of the things he was called, sent a bunch of goons after all of us initiates. He wanted all of us out of the way so he could summon Apophis. Because we were all there, well, naturally we had to be punished for learning our crafts. But, we held them off.

Admittedly, I wasn't in the range of combat so much as I was in the range of sending out distractions, and letting rats at them to cause some chaos but... I've at least seen something like it before. And I've seen defenses work. I don't know very much about werewolves, but...I'd say we've got a shot.

[So after he saw Zane in the camp, after what had been, like, months? There was absolutely only one person he could run to and freak out at. Only one person who was pretty much as close to Jehan as he was.

Invisibly, he taps Courf on the shoulder, his voice a hissing whisper.]

Dude. Guess who I just fucking saw.

[Courfeyrac should be used to things like this by now, but the tap on his shoulder did make him jump a little bit. Turning to face Gabe... or where he assumed he was... his brow furrowed as he replied just as quietly:]

What? Who?

[he guessed right. Just follow the sound of his voice, Courfeyrac.]

Yo, okay, you remember that Zane guy? The bag of dicks Jehan was mooning over for like, all summer?

[Every annoyance from earlier dissipated the moment that name was said. Of course he remembered, his own fucking brother... But more than that, nope, Gabe hit it on the nose with the explanation...]

Don't tell me that asshole was ballsy enough to show up here...

Bingo.

[He nods a little, then grabs Courfeyrac by the shoulder so he can see Gabriel.]

He's raiding the Athena cabin. Let's go give him something to cry about.

[Very few have seen Courfeyrac truly angry before, he's generally pretty good at covering up any unseemly emotions with happiness. But this... he doesn't even need to be told twice.. He's already taking a few steps that way.]

Let's go.

[She's got her eyes trained on the ground now.]

Last summer, Kronos attacked Olympus. The gods were fighting on another front, and it was just us who had to defend Olympus. We went up against monsters, our half-siblings, you name it... The point is: You don't come out of these unscathed. There are casualties. We're not going to be alright.

If no one on our side dies for once? I'd consider that a victory.

[Gabriel's already holding his prism up to the starlight, switching it into knife-form - though it's harder in this darkness. Yeah, he's ready to shank a bitch.]

[He cracks his knuckles and glances back at Gabe.]

The wolf's recovery was a lot faster than he was expecting. Hephaistion caught the full impact of her lunge with is shield. He's not quite down, but it dropped him to one knee and severely weakened his shield arm. It did however put him less in in Sky's way. "I think you should listen to the young lady, wolf. Run away. Leave our camp. Or suffer for it." Did he believe the wolf would listen? Of course not, but he was hoping to keep her attention to give Sky a better chance to swing.

[ Ha ha very funny. No, Katya was full human and willingly took a bite because she loves how it feels, turning slowly to face a boy smaller than her - and apparently a sibling of hers. A family affair? That makes it even more fun.

The wolf turns around slowly, letting her prey hurry away because she's found a far more interesting task. You've got her attention, what are you going to do with it now? ]

Ooh, good thinking.

[And he lets go of Courfeyrac's shoulder and loosens up, bringing himself back into vision, then runs towards the cabins.]

Eventually, the wolf releases the spear, hoping to knock him off balance with the way he has been pulling on his end and using his force to kick her away. The battle has begun to bore her, but she wants to see what else he can do before she decides to end him here. There's a new scent in the air and that worries her in the back of her mind but for now she'll begin to circle him again.

[He sprints after him, not wanting to waste any more time where the jerk could get away.]

[Feuilly's nod at that is serious. He'd heard about what had happened there, of course, and of the casualties. They'd been luckier at Brooklyn House, certainly, but still.]

Well, then not completely. But if we start by making sure that nothing happens here, we'll have done something to contribute to that, right? And I would say that's a victory, definitely. It's what we're hoping for, right?

That's my girl.

[She grins, her weapons back at the ready.]

And be safe.

Right.

We always hope for it. But that's not how war works. Not how battles are.

Is she out fighting right now? I haven't seen her around, so I was wondering...

[He's worried about her, but she's also a robot. Charlie is 100% sure she has lasers she can use against the werewolves.]

Maybe... And maybe it's guarded by a licorice dragon or something cool like that! Bet we'd have to fight it to get into Candy Land!

[After a moment, Flynn nods.]

Alright. Just...don't do anything reckless if a fight breaks out, okay?

[He smiles with a faint hint of wryness.]

I'm sure your siblings would have my hide if I didn't make sure you were protected. I'll take you to the armory. It's not too far, just right next to the Forge.

[ she looks at him, then follows his line of sight with hers. she places her hand on her hip, haughtily. ]

That depends. I'm not big on the whole "partnering up" thing.

Then you could always, I don't know...

[He shrugs a little.]

Independently steal my idea from me.

He's a really good guy! Back when we were kidnapped by the stupid place he protecte-

[And all the praise she had for Gabriel stops short as she stares at Eponine.]

But yeah, that sounds just like Gabe. He came to hang out with me when everyone went into the city. Kicked his butt at monopoly.

Sometimes Tai does really stupid things and he thinks he's helping but sometimes makes things worse. But he always means well. My brother always says he's actually incapable of being mean! Li-Like one time when I was little I got made and I tried running away 'nd he found me 'nd dragged me home and I thought he was a jerk for doing that! But he really wasn't.
