Who: The entire camp + special guests.
What: Wolves have broken through the camp barriers!
When: Late Wednesday January 29 into early morning on January 30
Where: Various camp locations.
Why: Some canines think they can show Camp Half-Blood who's boss.

It starts with a scream.

The evening harpies, better known as camp's alert system for kids who are out past curfew, have some news for everyone, flying through the camp and shrieking through cabin doors to wake everyone up if they're asleep. (Unless, of course, you're untrained and too young or incapable of fighting tonight. Demeter cabin will be your place of refuge.) After the first call to duty, campers have risen to the occasion with their various plans and promises, patrolling the border and building weapons specifically for their new enemies. The Full Moon passed with only a few howls, much to the surprise of many.

No, these wolves have other plans for the New Moon. Aligned with Gaea and followers of Lycaron, they're a group of six renegades looking for a show and perhaps a tasty snack. One of them just so happens to be in the business of fussing with the Mist, undoing someone's hard work to let in her comrades.

They've got bared teeth, blood on their nails, and a penchant for chaos. Camp, it's time to wake up.

Fuck human parents. Mine never seemed to care. [Well, her father, sometimes. But she could never predict when that was. And always she prepared too late.]

My half-brother... He claimed that our godly parents never really cared. [It was a tense subject here, given what this belief had actually done.] That we were only around 'cause they needed pawns or some shit.

Y'know what's the worst part? I can't even tell if I'm happy about it or not.

[He sighs a little, scratching the back of his neck.]

Not even one. You'd think a camp being attacked by werewolves would...y'know, need human ambulances.

Sounds like being a demigod's the kind of thing that takes a lot of balls, and that's even before you find out all of this.

[He's got the impression his parents would have cared, so he's not really touching that one. He's not really qualified at any rate.]

Ouch. Not sure I've seen enough to think about that one way or the other. Can I just say I hope that one's not true?

It isn't true. [It can't be. To go through all this hell for a man that doesn't give a shit about her? He'd proven after Luke's death that he did care. Luke was always jealous of how much Hermes seemed to care for her, at least.]

I'm glad then. It seems a little...counterproductive to me if they didn't care. I mean [There's a firm nod there.] here you are, and getting you here, it does seem like it'd be, I don't know, a little harder than the way mortals go about it. I'm glad then.

It used to be different, but I think I like this better.

[She's not even going to address the idea of god sex. She'd walked in on her mother and her not-Hermes father before. Never fun.]

It does seem a whole lot...I don't know, fairer.

[While on high alert was not the right time to be making new friends, but Hephaistion only recognized Demeter's guard in passing. One of the magicians, if he recalled correctly. He comes closer to the cabin, eyes and ears still strained for any signs of trouble, to speak briefly with him.]

If it's more than what two demigods can handle, I've got another trick or two up my sleeve before we can bring in the dragon. I'm hoping we won't have to bring them that close to the Fleece.

It's whatever. [Eponine glances over her shoulder at the door.] I should get back.

You could just drop out, you know. [ which are, in fact, her plans, if things continue as they are. it was meant to take her to hollywood, not here, but still. ]

But it's not exactly as if the fight's over, is it?

[And if he sounds like he's pouting, it's because he is. But he's basically a damsel in distress betrayed by his own dog.]

I suppose, though I am not sure I would want to get used to it. Be prepared and endure, yes, but getting used to this implies that it will happen constantly enough for it to become routine.

Nodding she let's go of his hand only to hold up her pinky.]

[Naomi blinks, taken aback by this.]

Ummm, well Tai was. So was Gabriel, 'nd Dave went to the Big House a lot so I figure he must've been visiting you!

They didn't tell me much? 'Cause I didn't ask since Tai told me you were sick!

[Even if one of them is his crazy ex.]

And you're still trying to tell me that missing a year isn't working out in your favor.

[ a year, or longer. audrey doesn't know yet. she's been here a month and a half, okay. ]

Okay, so we've got time. Let's use it. [ said sternly, as though there surely have to be some things to be taken care of. and wandering around in the woods isn't the smartest way to do things, invisible or not. but then again, audrey's not the one with the experience here. ]

[She glances over her shoulder again at the dragon.]

Well the dragon certainly doesn't seem worried about it.

[He grins.]

Good.

[Because it was good news and that was what he wanted to hear.]

I'm sure Ven and John are offering air support where they can as well. If we're going to go into the forest line though we'll need to drop lower for visual.

You could, but we both know that's not going happening just like we both know I wouldn't actually try to kill you.

[He won't deny that he was kind of an accessory to attempted murder, y'know, helping with kidnapping and what not. But he would argue that technically he didn't lock Jehan in that room.

Snorting his shakes his head.]

Come back to what? A trial and execution? Whether by my fellow Romans or when the Red Room wins this war? Sorry, no. I'm very content being on this side.
