THE QUEST TO TAKE BACK STOLEN ITEMS

What: Taking back stolen items.

Why: It's time to perform a little search and rescue.



Camp Half-Blood was broken into by the Gaea-aligned Red Room organization a month ago, in the hubbub of the camp also being invaded by a deadly werewolf pack and monster hunters. Since then, the camp has been locked down - no one leaves, only key people get in. Meanwhile, Chiron and Mr. D have been really putting their heads together, trying to organize a crack-team of campers to go retrieve the items that the Red Room stole, and it's high time they went out on an little rescue mission.

This is what was stolen from Camp Half-Blood by the Red Room:

Sojourner Ayers-Silva's teddy bear

Dean Winchester's car, a 1967 Chevrolet Impala
Jean Prouvaire's heart

The directors have chosen campers based on their skills and intellect to set out to find the items. In addition, Rachel Elizabeth Dare has issued this prophecy for the group:

In the city of swirling winds
Six campers' quest begins
The building dwarfed by only one
Brings riches untold and lives undone
To see the truth behind the lies
One must look with unburdened eyes

The questers are expected to leave at noon on February 23, and are asked to try and return by March 3. They will be equipped with backpacks containing a small bedroll, two vials each of nectar (one-half of the vial will cure most wounds, a whole vial will cure fatal wounds) and one piece of ambrosia (one half will cure most wounds, a whole piece will cure a fatal wound), mortal first-aid equipment like bandages, matches, a length of rope, and three golden drachmas to facilitate IMs with. They may take their weapons to aid them, as well as any special items they may have on their person at this time.

[Percy's not going to say anything, just come up beside her and take her hand, leaning forward a little to bump their foreheads together. It's the first time that she's leaving on a quest without him, and that just feels wrong.]

Hey. [ Annabeth has been busy, but that doesn't make her any less concerned about what's happened. Though her first instinct is to harass Percy for information, she realizes that the entire debacle is sensitive on both sides and has given both her boyfriend and Nico their space. ]

You alright?

[allnerves]

I have it under control. [ It's a standard Annabeth response. She has shifted gears since the announcement, though she did suspect someone from her cabin would be called into the quest. ]

Well, you might prefer that, but I prefer my princes a little more motivated. [followed by an excessive eye-roll] And let's not actually get started on everyone else, that's a whole cluster we don't have time for.

[He actually smiles a little at Feuilly's next statement, and it's sincere, not mocking, but a little self-deprecating, somehow.]

I'll be pissed, too. [He half smirks, but it falls a little flat.]

But I will do my best to return with every appendage I leave with. Just for you.

[And he's grinning again, because damn, no, he's not going to psych himself up about this whole quest thing yet.]

[She gives her a half-hearted smile.]

Yeah, I can try to do that.

[It's probably going to be a generic bear or something, but it's the thought that counts.]

I'd love that, but do you think you'd have enough time to make one? We can just go to the craft cabin and you can help me pick some out.

[Not that she wouldn't seeing what he would come up with.]

[Phasers are set to 11, he can't stop being cute!

He's determined to make something for her when she comes back (because she will come back,) at least, but he's staying mum on that front.

He slips his hand into hers, moving to tug her to the crafts cabin.]

Yeah, I guess I wouldn't have enough time... But let's go! We can find something just as good!

In which case, I'll be the mastermind sort of prince, holed up in the dungeon, why it's always the dungeon, I'm not sure, practicing magic with which to help you save the kingdom. But definitely not. It's a work in progress, right?

Not that I expect you'll do anything but come out of this awesome.

[And he means that. There's something about Tony that tells him you can trust the guy with just about anything, even if he might be hiding it, deep down.]

[Saying it's a small gesture, of course, but it's what she can do right now, especially since she's not as close to Tony as she is to Leo. But he is the blood of Hephaestus as much as she is, and he's...he seems to be a good brother, not like the one who raised her.

She hopes.]

[They're something that she's not used to hearing, of course, no less from someone who's related to her. But it makes her value Leo even more, makes her even more fiercely protective of someone older than her. Some might call it strange, but it's how she operates.

But she does make a confused eyebrow at the name.]

[He looks at her, and briefly debates with the idea of lying to her. But he knows that he can't do that, it would do more harm then good.

Taking a seat besides her and shakes his head.]

I was nervous before my quest.

[Hey, this isn't the weirdest good luck charm she has.

Still, she's relieved he takes them instead of looking at her like she's grown three heads. The mention of her bear makes her smile falter. She ducks her head, giving a nod. She'd really like her bear back, she hasn't slept properly since... Well.

But, right. There's more important things!]

Spanish, [ he explains with a shrug. ] It, uh. It means "queen".

[ Well, she acts like one. ]

[ He nods, but he doesn't want to leave Sojourner feeling like he doesn't care. ]

We'll get 'em all back. No bear gets left behind.

[Despite kidnapping a bunch of campers, sending werewolves, and stealing a bunch of stuff. You know, no big deal or anything.]

[She's half laughing as she lets herself be led, traipsing over to the crafts cabin.]

[Alright, Margot is good, sort of. Standing up on shaking legs, she readjusts the shield slung over her shoulder and tries to make herself look as dignified as possible as she joins the rest of the group.

Her pegasus meanders off with something like a snicker, joining Ven's to probably discuss how dumb demigods are. Just another day.]

The one with all the pointy things on top, right? It did seem taller than all the rest when we were flying down...

[She doesn't speak Spanish - she knows Ancient Greek, now, and a language Viserys taught her lost so long ago to the ages, so long ago that she's not even sure if people believe it to be real - but she's learning, and it's starting now.

There's a little fire glowing in her eyes and in her heart, though, and it's the kindlings of the one she lost when her dragons were stolen.]
