"He...wasn't a good guy, towards the end." He's quiet to talk about it, of course, the nights where his dad would come and not seem...like himself. He kind of knows what it was, now, but he's not really comfortable talking about it, not yet. "I don't even really know the whole reason why he left me and mom. And it was...hard, after he went away, y'know? But we got by. We still get by. And...I guess he was okay in the Legion, if his reccomendation got me into the Fourth." It's the best he can give her, for right now.
