Who: Eiji, Artemis, and Ankh
What: Eiji had a dream. His gloves and belt are somewhere in America, and he needs those if he's to wield Mjolnir at some point
When: April 10th-April 14th
Where: Well, it'll end at Parsons (a fashion design school)
Why: People need their stuff.

Chiron was a little unsure about this "quest"--there had been no prophecy and their Oracle couldn't actually offer one. Perhaps it had something to do with the dream coming to Eiji himself. Either way, the only help Rachel could offer was clarification of where, exactly, they would be off to. They would find the gauntlets and belt at Parsons Fashion Design School on 5th Avenue in downtown New York City.

It's with little fanfare the Eiji and his companions head off, though people are still invited to see them off and welcome them home when they return.

[Having given Artemis is pocket square, it's Eiji's turn, and Mary is quick to offer him her farewell. She's totally confident he'll succeed.]

Eiji, we'll miss you while you are gone!


[She offers him the second linen pocket square, the rune representing Thor has been stitched on it in green.]

I made them for luck, though likely Rhys' charms are far luckier.

[In Japanese, albeit hesitantly,] May you have best fortune.

[Wait you can turn into a barn owl. Why didn't I know about this. Ankh scrunches up his face in a brief disgruntled gesture.]

Relying on someone you hardly know seems like quite the bargain. [And it's either extremely foolish or extremely trusting, and neither of these options are things Ankh is particularly comfortable with.]

[Artemis shrugs at Eiji's remark. It's possible they could've, but that's besides the point.]

It is a bargain I'm willing to make in this instance. Call it a trial of faith.

[He's not too concerned about whether Ankh will decide to be kind to them or not. Strategies and counter-strategies are Artemis' specialty.]

This is either going to turn into a scouting mission for today or a successful acquiring of what we came here for. It depends on where the items are located, and whether it will be prudent to take them in the middle of the day. Either way, it makes more sense for Ankh to do his part first before Eiji and I head inside.

[It's true. Eiji was a little concerned, though so far he hadn't any reason to suspect foul play of Ankh. The worst red flag he'd received was his caginess with his abilities. Though, Eiji was sure he could wheedle that out of him in time.]

[If they didn't find out the hard way.]

Besides I have a hard time believing you would dupe us this early on. You'd wait until we had the belt sight at least, yeah?

Oh- [Durr, she was making a joke. He looks extra sheepish.] I see!

I'll make sure we make it back in one piece, don't worry.

Have you heard of the Catskill mountains? I hear those are very nice! Maybe another quest will happen there.

[He's from a prefecture that wasn't nearly as big as some, but his family garnered the amount of attention that lead to him often being in the city. ]

[While the boys had been talking, Argus had just been driving along, his multiple eyes watching them and the road and everything.

Which is the only reason Argus managed to pull the van over when it started smoking before things got too messy, what with the smoke and all. Without a word (he didn't speak much), Argus got out of the car to start looking under the hood. Dammit]

[A big friendly smile for Mary.]

Miss Mary! [Oh, what's this? He looks at it and then grins.]

Ah- it's wonderful! Between this and Rhys' charm I know we'll be just fine.

[He gives her a respectful bow, this time in Japanese.]

[A roll of his eyes.]

[Fuck you both with a cactus, okay? He's totally mysterious and evil and you shouldn't trust him or think he's nice even for a moment because he's not. Scary bird is scary. Screech. Etcetera.]

[Of course, all he does in light of their words is bristle and grumble under his breath, shifting in his seat to stare out the window and ignore them some more-- until Argus (weird looking, wasn't he?) pulled the van over to examine its innards.]

[He tsks, climbing out of the van as well.]

We're on some kind of a time limit here, aren't we?

[Artemis sighs. Of course something like this happens. Hopefully, this isn't a sign....]

Not particularly. If we're going to be late, I've got enough drachma and a prism to send a message to camp.

[Well, that's unfortunate, though Eiji is pretty glad to get out of the van. He slides out after Ankh stretching his arms and legs, and then he looks over at Argus with some concern.]

Do you need help?

[Someone get this boy on task.]

[Argus shakes his head, waving down the road. They're not actually far from a bus that'll take them into the city, so they can get going on their own. He's got this. They have a quest to get to.

[Another tsk.]

Given the age and the general look of the thing, I doubt this is the first time this has happened. He probably knows how to handle it.

[He's directing that at Eiji, though he's too busy rolling his eyes at him to actually look at him.]

[She returns the bow, albeit awkwardly. She doesn't really know the nuances, but her own reply is also in Japanese. After all, it's an easy phrase.]

I never heard of them before. Are they really big?

[So after buses, limos, and gods only know what else the three questors are finally near the school. There's talk about the showing of Víli Arnason's latest collection, one of the most promising students at the school. Much talk is also heard of the belt and gloves he apparently designed to go with one of the outfits.

That would be a hint.]

[New York taxi's man. Eiji came out of that experience a changed man.]

[Anyways. Thank the gods for finding the school. He didn't know if he could keep Ankh from plucking anymore ice cream from street stands and he was running out of cash.]

[The talk of a belt and gloves catches his attention, though.]

Guys, guys wait a second.

[There are reasons why Artemis wanted to take something not a NY taxi, Eiji. Gods above and below.

He, too, hears the mention.]

Víli Arnason, hm?

[Ankh is about 700% percent done with this quest, up until they go walking by some street vendors and one of them has ice cream. The ice cream is literally the entirety of what gets him interested in doing anything but flying the fuck home. ...Well, somewhere else, at least, "home" wasn't really a describing factor to any given location, for him.]

[And the first two popsicles he stole were because he just felt like eating them. The next three were because Eiji's reactions were just goddamn funny. He stopped after five, though. Good lord, how the fuck was this guy so skinny if he ate that much ice cream. Seriously.]

[His interest was actually-- impressively --piqued by the mention of the famed student and his creations which very conveniently matched the description of what they happened to be looking for. Chewing on the end of his last ice cream's stick, he grinned crookedly.]

Well that makes things easier.

[Anyway.]

Ah, let's get closer-!

[And that is Thor moving towards the school with very little subtlety.]

Eiji, a word to the wise: less obvious, more subtle. Going in without looking like we belong in that setting is not the definition of 'subtle.'

[Artemis glances at Ankh.]

Would you mind scouting around while we purchase what we need? Eiji needs to look like he fits the part of a serious college student applying for a very fashion-conscious school.

[tsunbird]

[Another grin.]

Sure. But I want to see this "serious college student" attire, no doubt it'll be rich.

[And off he goes, stepping out of sight before shifting into a hawk and flying off to do a circuit of the school.]
