Who: Everyone at camp.
What: Apollo's sacred day.
Where: The ampitheater.
When: August 7, 8:30 PM.
Why: Apollo's at camp today, and as the god of music, he's holding a dance.

It was decided at the meeting of the summer gods, the Summer Solstice, but it took Apollo physically coming to the Big House and scolding Mr. D for being lazy and not putting up any fliers to actually get the god of wine to do it, a week in advance.

Apollo prides himself on being the god of just about everything - though Mr. D would say, out of the cocky god's earshot, that he's the god of everything nobody else wanted to be the god of. Because of this, he's always had a self-assured attitude which is sometimes hard to deal with.

Because of this, when he decided he was going to throw a dance for the demigods towards the end of the summer as a reward for accepting children of other pantheons into their Greek camp so well, most of the other gods decided to just let him have it rather than argue. (Considering that Hera and Zeus had gotten into three separate spats since the Solstice began, they'd all had enough godly screaming for one meeting.)

So at about 8:30 on the nose - since he's used to following a tight schedule on the sun chariot and he's excited about this, he'll be on time - a flaming, bright red Maserati drives up to the ampitheater. Apollo doesn't even have to lift a finger for the trunk to open, and speakers as well as state of the art DJ equipment rise up onto a platform. He waves his hand, and club music with a thumping bassline starts playing.

(Never say that Apollo doesn't like to make an entrance.)

Requests will be taken all night by Apollo, who will be manning the dj booth as well as making up freestyle haikus. He's one of the more amicable gods, especially to his kids, which he's hosted more of at Camp Half Blood and Camp Jupiter combined than any other god. He's charming and younger looking than most gods, with a cocky smile and sandy hair.
If you're a pretty girl, he might hit on you.

(Apologies in advance. He'd say old habits die hard because he's right. Sorry, Hunters of Artemis.)

[Okay, so, sure... Jehan's been avoiding him since that whole debacle with what his mom had done... It had taken quite a bit to get him to reply when the whole thing with the poison ring... And even then he hadn't come to him. Courfeyrac wasn't dumb, he understood why things had become so awkward between them.

He just didn't understand why it had to be. And then here Jehan was, looking actually put together and damn it, Alcuin. He silently cursed his half-brother's ability to make Jehan look like this. Throwing caution to the wind, he rushed forward to him and took both his hands.]

You're going to dance with me, aren't you? You look too good to be a wallflower all night.

[So much mental keysmashing. He hasn't been this close to Courf since the Aphrodite fiasco and now his best friend who is a wonderful kisser not that he's focusing on that is all up in his space and has his hands and what does Jehan do?

He blushes and stammers]

Um, ah...s-sure?

[Courfeyrac tugs Jehan towards the dance floor, positively beaming at him.]

Good, because I would not have taken no for an answer~

Do you ever?

[He's a furious red that clashes horribly with his hair]

Take no for an answer, that is.

I do... If someone's really insistent about it...

[C'mon, E's daddy, play a slow song right about now...]

I'm glad you weren't.

[Sure enough, cue the slowish song.

Why him?]

I can't say no to my friends, you know that.

[Remind him to give Apollo an extra offering later. Or his mom. Or both.]

I know... and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't counting on that.

Terrible. You are a terrible human being, Reynaud.

[Jehan laughs, though now he's starting to feel like this is a trap of some sort]

Moi? Non, mon ami! I am a terrific demigod, Jehan.

[Not a trap, seriously... Even as he pulls Jehan closer so they can dance properly to the song.]

Liar.

[He stumbles a little when Courf tries to tug him closer. Jehan, on the other hand, tries to keep a little distance]

So, any reason you wanted to dance with me?

[Well, what an awkward tango they have going on. He frowns a little at the distance and the question.]

Why not? It's a dance, Jehan... that's what people do.

You...I don't know, it just seemed like you wanted to make sure I couldn't avoid you or something. Like you wanted to talk?

[No, that would be Jehan projecting. He wants to talk and not avoid Courf, but he doesn't know how]

So you admit you have been avoiding me.

[But no, Jehan... dancing is not a time for talking.... Not about this.]

I never said that.

[Ugh, why is this so awkward with Courf? It wasn't with Gabe or Zane!]

You didn't have to.

[This is such a mood killer for dancing, Jehan. :( Seriously.]

...I'm sorry, Courf. Maybe I should let you find someone else to dance with...? I'm all awkward and...

Trying to avoid me again...

[He doesn't mean to sound hurt about that, but...]

I want to dance with you right now, Jehan. Please?

...okay.

[He hates feeling so weird around Courf, especially when it obviously hurts him. He steps closer so they can dance properly as the song moves into another slower one]

...I saw what you did for Ep.

[Courfeyrac loves his mother, he really does. But all of this because of what she did for the camp those few weeks ago... he couldn't help but be irritated with her. Lost in his thoughts, there was a moment before he realized what Jehan said... and he smiled slightly.]

She looks fabulous, doesn't she?

She does. Sorry for not going to you this time, but you were busy and Alcuin wasn't.

[A shy smile]

And I figured you'd want a break from always having to dress me for important things.

[And you wanted to avoid me. Whether or not it was true, it was all he could supply now. He smiles and shakes his head, regardless of those dark thoughts. Tonight they were supposed to enjoy themselves.]

It's okay, I get it. As long as you had someone help... Alcuin did a good job.

It's bit simpler than I like, but he did, didn't he? I didn't think I'd look good in grey.

Sometimes simple is best... [He pauses a beat and shrugs.] Besides, you look good in whatever you wear. So.

[He blushes]

Liar.

Nope. I don't lie about those things. Just because I don't agree with the style doesn't mean you don't still look good.
