Who: All campers!
What: A game of Capture the Flag.
Where: The Forest
When: September 20, 7 PM sharp. Dinner will be served once a team wins.
Why: It's time to work together as a team. Again.

[Mr. D is waiting at the edge of the forest, and Chiron's trotting behind him with a list, inspecting the lines of equipment and making sure all the helmets and breastplates are available and clearly marked for which team they belong to. As each camper shows up to the meeting spot, the centaur ticks them off the list - it's an attendance sheet. Once Chiron's given him the signal, Mr. D begins speaking.]

Let's do this quickly, shall we? This week for Capture the Flag, we're going to be doing things a little differently. It's come to our attention...

[He glances skyward - yes, Hera has been riding him about this lately.]

...that we should do more to integrate the new campers we are hosting at Camp Half-Blood, and make them feel as if they have a home. That being said! This week, you'll be divided differently into teams rather than by cabin, and our captains will be the Roman praetors, since they know all about commandeering armies. Chiron here has done his best to make sure each team has a nice mix of all of you in it, so if you don't like who you've been teamed up with? Don't come crying to me.

The RED team will be headed by Praetor Jason Grace. He'll have the following team members: Alcuin Delaunay, Annie Cresta, Charlie Miller, Dave Strider, Ferb Fletcher, Emile Joly, Gabriel Novak, Heather O'Toole, Johnny Mason, Leo Valdez, Maya Matlin, Mike Warren, Natalie Goodman, Reynaud de Courfeyrac, Sadie Kane, Scott McCall, and Ventus Bradford.

The BLUE team will be headed by Praetor Reyna Rivera. She'll have the following team members: Anna Neumeyer, Bay Kennish, Daenerys Targaryen, Dean Winchester, Eponine Thenardier, Hazel Levesque, Hermione Granger, Jean Prouvaire, Karrin Murphy, Margot Sullivan, Merida of Dunbroch, Millie DeWitt, Ron Weasley, Saralegui Sargon and Sky Smith.

Now. Here are the rules, since I really don't want to see any of you getting maimed out there.

1) No killing. I cannot stress this enough. Lupa's pack lives in the forest, and she's told me she's having them all keep a watchful eye on you in case things get too intense. That being said, if you try anything, there is a very hungry group of wolves that you'll have to answer to.

2) No maiming, either. Chiron is going to be in there as well, working as a medic, but neither he nor I want to see any arms getting chopped off!

3) Absolutely no friendly fire. This is about working together as a group. I'm sure the praetors will stress this to you.

4) All weapons and magical items may be used -

[Chiron cuts him off midway to say 'Ms. Targaryen, put the dragon on your back away.'

Mr. D gives an exasperated sigh and continues.]

All weapons and magical items may be used in this game. Hannibal will be roaming the forest as well, so you're free to use him for...whatever it is that you Romans do with him.

[Yeah, thinking about his time as Bacchus makes his head hurt, so he's just going to Ignore It.

Once everyone's back in their positions after getting their helmets and protective gear, Chiron calls the game on and goes galloping off into the forest.]

*Oh look, nobody around the flag. The area's far too open for Bay's tastes. She'd been trudging along in Dean's wake as she felt the safest best was to stick with someone who knew what he was up to. Plus... she wasn't too trusting of anyone that fit in as well as the Greeks and the Romans.*

*Bay picked an illusion that seemed the right tone for this game... a dark mist, purple smoke rose around the clearing turning into a large circus tent. Anyone trying to keep an eye on the flag from outside will need to come INTO the illusion to see what's what. This means that nobody can safely fire into the clearing either. Enjoy.*

*Bay paced Dean for a moment, holding a wooden sign with "Hey. Let's make this fast?" written on it, like out of Looney Tunes.*

[ Honestly? Dean doesn't give a damn about the flag. But Bay's got it covered - literally - so he might as well take the chance. ]

Okay, Wile E, let's do this.

[ He steps right in and goes for it, his walk relaxed but alert and ready, ]

[And out of the tree comes an incredibly pissed off looking Iris kid brandishing a bronze knife, screaming like a fucking banshee.]

Whoa, whoa! What the hell do you think you're doing?

*Bay smiles at Dean, something all together far too wicked in that smile. And she melts into that same purple smoke all her illusions are made out of. Which explains the homage to the only Coyote to purchase Acme products.*

*Bay has only one trick, illusions. But she's a frickin' Goddess so she's very good at it. It's the only power she gets to practice, and she's gotten a lot of that. There are now four new Bays and three other Deans in the space of the tent she created. And since they are creations of magic, not tricks of the light, they look just like the real thing.*

[ Dean's got the best friends, which means you are so losing this round, Rainbow Boy. He shoots Gabe a grin, forgoing the taunting he'd like to do just in case that might give him away (Bay never did explain if the illusion thing covers sound or not), and all four of him draw their guns. Their goddess friend ought to get the message and go for the flag.

You brought a gun to a knife fight, Gabe? And one made of celestial bronze at that? You need to learn a thing or two about fighting mortals. ]

[the purple smoke goes up, and suddenly there's multiple Bays and Deans. He's impressed - he can only copy himself once, and he's much better at hiding himself from view than making more of himself. His tend to flicker, too. For a moment, he's trying to figure out exactly who or what this girl is when the Deans pull out their guns.]

Oh, come on.

[Well, two can play at this game, and Gabriel snaps his fingers, going invisible. It?'a a little hard to shoot at a target you can't see.]

*Bay has one power she can rely on, it's illusions. She is pretty much pushing herself to the edge on this, but it's not too much for her to handle. Not like her death touch deal, which she still hasn't worked out how to practice. Four girls run toward the flag, and... she's got pretty good likenesses of each, there's nothing to go by as to which is which from her illusions. Better interact with them.*

*Sadly... she can't screw up his illusion either. As all she makes are tricks of magic, she can't release a fog to reveal the empty spot where Gabriel is. Sorry Dean, he's all yours and all you have are your three doubles to work with.*
