Who: The entire camp + special guests.
What: Wolves have broken through the camp barriers!
When: Late Wednesday January 29 into early morning on January 30
Where: Various camp locations.
Why: Some canines think they can show Camp Half-Blood who's boss.

It starts with a scream.

The evening harpies, better known as camp's alert system for kids who are out past curfew, have some news for everyone, flying through the camp and shrieking through cabin doors to wake everyone up if they're asleep. (Unless, of course, you're untrained and too young or incapable of fighting tonight. Demeter cabin will be your place of refuge.) After the first call to duty, campers have risen to the occasion with their various plans and promises, patrolling the border and building weapons specifically for their new enemies. The Full Moon passed with only a few howls, much to the surprise of many.

No, these wolves have other plans for the New Moon. Aligned with Gaea and followers of Lycaron, they're a group of six renegades looking for a show and perhaps a tasty snack. One of them just so happens to be in the business of fussing with the Mist, undoing someone's hard work to let in her comrades.

They've got bared teeth, blood on their nails, and a penchant for chaos. Camp, it's time to wake up.

[Nico wastes no time in making his way to help with defending the Pine Tree, though he knows he's most likely going to need to switch areas if he's not needed here. Thalia's Tree is much more open than the forest, at least, so this is a good spot if he needs to summon undead warriors. The only problem is that in picking an open area, he has to sacrifice having a fast getaway via shadow travel. Not many shadows he can use here.

Still, he's as ready as he'll ever be. Nico will stand back behind the lines to take care of any who manage to penetrate them.]

[Yang already had her gauntlets in their active state and ready to go, the full-out bronze plated items covering the majority of her arm. It would not only be good for preventing bites, but they came with silver across the knuckles which would be fun to drive into the face of one of these wolves she'd been hearing for so long now.

Unfortunately, she hadn't been too sure on where to go and without thinking found herself heading for the big tree that was so familiar to the native Greek campers. She shouldn't have been surprised then to see one of her fellow Greeks already there.]

Well I can see nothing's happened here yet. Good.

[He looks over at Yang when he hears her, and gives her a nod in greeting. Normally, he's not terribly inclined to seek out a child of Aphrodite as a companion, but she's so different from what most assume from the love goddess' children that Nico is honestly pretty glad to have her at his back. Not to mention easy to forget who Yang's mother is.]

Not yet. If we're lucky, they won't think to take what the dragon's guarding.

[Nico is pretty sure it'll suck hardcore if the Golden Fleece got into the Red Room's hands.]

[Yang's eyes flick towards the tree. Right. Sometimes she forgot about their little camp treasure and the events around Thalia's Pine tree.]

It'd be a good target...but between the two of us I bet we can persuade them otherwise.

[Yang cracks her knuckles to punctuate the statement. Of course, her charmspeak might also come in handy for that too.]

[That earns a small, tight smile.]

If worse comes to worse, I'm pretty sure if we add the dragon into the mix, we might be able to do it.

Look! We've come up with a battle strategy. Excellent.

[She chuckles, but it's hard to stay upbeat when you know there are wolves on the prowl.]

If it's more than what two demigods can handle, I've got another trick or two up my sleeve before we can bring in the dragon. I'm hoping we won't have to bring them that close to the Fleece.

[She glances over her shoulder again at the dragon.]

Well the dragon certainly doesn't seem worried about it.
