Who: The entire camp + special guests.
What: Wolves have broken through the camp barriers!
When: Late Wednesday January 29 into early morning on January 30
Where: Various camp locations.
Why: Some canines think they can show Camp Half-Blood who's boss.
It starts with a scream.
The evening harpies, better known as camp's alert system for kids who are out past curfew, have some news for everyone, flying through the camp and shrieking through cabin doors to wake everyone up if they're asleep. (Unless, of course, you're untrained and too young or incapable of fighting tonight. Demeter cabin will be your place of refuge.) After the first call to duty, campers have risen to the occasion with their various plans and promises, patrolling the border and building weapons specifically for their new enemies. The Full Moon passed with only a few howls, much to the surprise of many.
No, these wolves have other plans for the New Moon. Aligned with Gaea and followers of Lycaron, they're a group of six renegades looking for a show and perhaps a tasty snack. One of them just so happens to be in the business of fussing with the Mist, undoing someone's hard work to let in her comrades.
They've got bared teeth, blood on their nails, and a penchant for chaos. Camp, it's time to wake up.

The woods are like home to him. No werewolf is going to prowl through his home without a fight.
Moving carefully, quietly, Gale makes his way through the woods, alert and ready to fire the arrow he's already nocked at a moment's notice. Though he doesn't stick to just one path, he makes sure to swing in close enough to each one of his traps to see if they've been sprung. ]

Wait, we shouldn't be out alone.
[He grabs his sword and gun belt and then he's ready. He won't delay Gale by much.]

Still, Mike has a point, so Gale pauses long enough for him to catch up. He eyes the weapons warily, thinking that he's glad he doesn't have to lug a sword with him, but at the same time, he wishes he still had it, just in case one of them gets close enough that his bow becomes useless. ]
I'm heading to the woods to check on the traps. [ Come with me, or don't. It doesn't need to be said. ]

At first, she summoned the rest of the First Cohort, giving them directions: a select group was given orders to help escort non-combatants to safety, and the others were told to take to the front lines. Annie herself crept through the woods, always in sight of the river, still running despite the cold air.
She can sense movement out of the corner of her eye and turns, trident at the ready. But- no. Gale.] Did you trap the area?
no subject
It is one very distraught and upset strange teenaged boy. He doesn't see Annie, too busy trying not to panic]
I told them this wasn't the job for me, oh god I told them I am not meant for killing. Why the fuck did I think that bite was a good idea--
[He trips, panicking and turning into a wolf as he falls. Abraxas is not very good at this. Not very good at this at all]
no subject
No, no, Abraxas isn't very good at this at all. The second Annie sees the wolf, she steps out from the tree, her trident aimed at him.]
If the bite was a bad idea, coming here was a worse one.
[Behind the wolf, she noticed something, something about how the branches at the base of the tree hit the snow, some sort of... line just barely visible. One of Gale's traps, what looked like a sort of trip-line.]

Brax is up on his legs and scrambling, trying to shift back and explain. He manages about half way before he starts babbling again]
L-look, I don't want to kill anyone. I really, seriously don't, unless you're in a computer. Just--just let me go and I swear I won't bother anyone.
no subject
We didn't get a choice about being attacked. Why should I give you one about your consequences?
no subject
[Still scrambling, still trying to shift back into a full human]

[Just a few more steps, she thinks. C'mon, if he can hit the trip-wire, with any luck... She glances up for a second, noticing the cage. So that's the type of trap it was. Well done, Hawthorne.]
How do I know you're not just making it up? To try to get me to let you go? I'm not weak. I do not bend. If you didn't think they were serious, you shouldn't have come.
no subject
[He hits the wire and bonks his head on the cage as it falls down on him]
What the fuck?!
no subject
But I'm not about to let you go, either.
[She pulls up her video shield.] I have one of the wolves captured in the woods. I suggest we find a suitable way to deal with him.

Did you catch him? [ Or maybe he just stumbled into it. That's the point of traps, after all, but Gale could've sworn he'd heard her saying something about it a moment ago, though that isn't proof of anything.
Whatever the case, they have a prisoner now and they need to do something about it. ] We should get him back to camp, [ he suggests. If they don't move the werewolf, there's a likely chance that one of his allies might try to release him. If they're smart, they can find a way even with the silver on the cage, and that's what he's concerned about.
Best not to underestimate your enemies, especially when they've already passed previously unbreakable boundaries. ]
