Who: The entire camp + special guests.
What: Wolves have broken through the camp barriers!
When: Late Wednesday January 29 into early morning on January 30
Where: Various camp locations.
Why: Some canines think they can show Camp Half-Blood who's boss.

It starts with a scream.

The evening harpies, better known as camp's alert system for kids who are out past curfew, have some news for everyone, flying through the camp and shrieking through cabin doors to wake everyone up if they're asleep. (Unless, of course, you're untrained and too young or incapable of fighting tonight. Demeter cabin will be your place of refuge.) After the first call to duty, campers have risen to the occasion with their various plans and promises, patrolling the border and building weapons specifically for their new enemies. The Full Moon passed with only a few howls, much to the surprise of many.

No, these wolves have other plans for the New Moon. Aligned with Gaea and followers of Lycaron, they're a group of six renegades looking for a show and perhaps a tasty snack. One of them just so happens to be in the business of fussing with the Mist, undoing someone's hard work to let in her comrades.

They've got bared teeth, blood on their nails, and a penchant for chaos. Camp, it's time to wake up.

Leave it to the archers to move to the Big House. Elizabeth had followed her friend up the second the cry had been heard, her silver-tipped arrows filling her quiver. Every once in a while, she'd slip into the shadows, heading down to the field to help out where she was needed. It was there that she'd seen new people. People she recognized as having no business anywhere around camp.

"Who are you?" Elizabeth managed, grabbing on to one of the men's shoulders and pushing him against a tree, a knife manifesting in her grip, holding it against his neck.

The man grinned. "Get out of my way, girly, you don't know what you're dealing with." There was a flash and Elizabeth let go of him with a cry, reaching down. The side of her silver jacket was covered in blood. Using her confusion, the man dashed off, but not before Elizabeth strung her bow and shot at him, hitting him in the shoulder. If she'd wanted him dead, he would be.

Sliding back into the nearest shadow, she reappeared back on top of the Big House, already digging in her pockets for ambrosia. "Allison- there are others here. They aren't demigods. They're... human."

When Elizabeth joins her on the roof, Allison glances over her shoulder and a bit of warmth flickers over her face at her new friend and cabinmate. Her lip twitches somewhat, fighting the smile in greeting, before she fixes it into a more serious expression, narrowing her eyes and reaching for an arrow herself.

"I know," she replies easily, her voice decidedly bereft of emotion. She lifts her chin and looks to Elizabeth, a proper Hunter, once more.

"I let them in."

"You let them in?" Elizabeth repeats, pressing her hand against her wound. "Allison! They're not just going after the wolves. They're going after us."

She lifts her hand to show the blood on her jacket, the contrast visible even in the low light.

"Who are they?" She can take some ambrosia later. Right now, she needs to get Allison to call them off.

It's only when Allison notices that Elizabeth is wounded and her face pales and her jaw drops slightly. She's not so far gone that she can't drop the prideful act to look at her.

"They're - they're not supposed to - I told them to keep everyone out of the way not hurt them." Allison's voice wobbles slightly by the end of the sentence and she shakes her head.

"We're all hunters, too. Not like you."

"Well, they aren't listening," she says shortly. "They're not drawing any lines between us or them. I don't think I'm the only one they've hurt. I-"

She pauses as Songbird lands on the weather vane, cawing ominously.

"You have to call them off, or it's going to be a bloodbath down there. On all sides!"

Oh, gods. This is beyond her, all of this is beyond her capabilities and she had ignored that fact until this very moment. She is completely unprepared, power of the Skadi or not.

Allison falters, covering her mouth with a gloved hand, looking between Elizabeth and the other campers. And she drops it, placing her hand over her chest, her brown leather jacket, in order to steady it. "I - I can't," she blurts out. "I can't call it off. There's something I have to do."

"Is that something worth the lives of more of your friends, Allison?" Elizabeth asks, straightening up, wincing some. There was no way to casually munch on ambrosia while having an important discussion. At least she wasn't in danger of bleeding to death. "Is it worth more than the lives of those other hunters?" She gestures with her free hand down to the campers.

Leave it to the Daughter of Eris to try to talk someone out of causing more havoc.

"You don't know until you try."

"This - this isn't my family," Allison insists, already losing her steely resolve the more she talks to Elizabeth, letting her normal self take over for a moment. "I have to do this because of the family that I still have. Liz, my mom was killed by wolves. My - my grandfather said she was brutally murdered."

Not really how she wanted to break the news, but it's all coming out now, out of her control.

"And I'm sorry to hear that. I am, Allison, I really, really am. I know what it's like to lose a family member, but- but that doesn't mean this is the way to do it. Allison-" she takes a few steps towards her, no weapons in sight, other than the bow slung across her back.

"Would your mother want your friends to be hurt on her behalf?" She'd had so many people hurt on her behalf, and she hated it. It was difficult to imagine anyone would feel differently.

"If they got in the way ... "

Her mother was brutal, harsh, prone to fits of anger when Allison least expected. When she tried to be nice it unnerving. Yet, Allison loved her as a daughter could love a mother. Saying those words out loud give her pause and she shakes her head.

"I have to get rid of all of them. I'm sorry, Liz," Do not let your heart rule you, do not cry in front of everyone, do not let them know your true emotions. Easily, Allison grabs onto the roof and flips herself over so she can easily land on the ground.

"Allison!" She yells after her friend, moving to run after her, but Songbird halts her. He was right- she needed ambrosia. Finally taking a small bite of it, she could feel it healing her. She had to figure out what to do about the other hunters. And Allison.

Without another word, she slipped back into the shadows.
