Who: The entire camp + special guests.
What: Wolves have broken through the camp barriers!
When: Late Wednesday January 29 into early morning on January 30
Where: Various camp locations.
Why: Some canines think they can show Camp Half-Blood who's boss.
It starts with a scream.
The evening harpies, better known as camp's alert system for kids who are out past curfew, have some news for everyone, flying through the camp and shrieking through cabin doors to wake everyone up if they're asleep. (Unless, of course, you're untrained and too young or incapable of fighting tonight. Demeter cabin will be your place of refuge.) After the first call to duty, campers have risen to the occasion with their various plans and promises, patrolling the border and building weapons specifically for their new enemies. The Full Moon passed with only a few howls, much to the surprise of many.
No, these wolves have other plans for the New Moon. Aligned with Gaea and followers of Lycaron, they're a group of six renegades looking for a show and perhaps a tasty snack. One of them just so happens to be in the business of fussing with the Mist, undoing someone's hard work to let in her comrades.
They've got bared teeth, blood on their nails, and a penchant for chaos. Camp, it's time to wake up.

Re: GAME CHANGER @ 2 AM
See, the thing about Walt being a part time hunter? His thing is...don't shoot unless it shoots you first. He's a Jersey boy born and bred and spends pretty much every single weekend traipsing up and down the Pine Barrens looking for that elusive critter, The Jersey Devil. He knows he's out there. He's gotta be.
Werewolves are his dad's thing. But they're a whole other story.
He's got two pistols on him and he knows how to use them, but he'd definitely prefer not to, for his sake.]

Who are you and what are you doing here? You have about thirty seconds to explain or get out.
no subject
[Walt blinks a few times, shaking his head and stepping back, and then taking a few breaths. You can do this, dude.]
You have to get out of the way, go back to safety!
no subject
[Did Mike's hands get closer to his gun? Maybe.]
And I haven't seen any wolves near this part of the border, just suspicious trespassers.
no subject
[Walt has a tendency to repeat himself when he's not sure of what to say. He's trying to sound commanding, but it's not working. He's mostly just shouting, voice full of energy.]
It's for your own good, dude!
no subject
[Mike doesn't have time for this bullshit. The kid's obviously no threat and he's reluctant to get violent, but he also doesn't want to leave him here totally unprotected... well, he has the guns. But Mike's faith in his ability to use them is dropping with every word from his mouth.]
Also, can you stop shouting? The woods do have monsters in them tonight.
no subject
[And it actually is. Walt is kind of a loud guy. Which doesn't make for the best hunter. Or the best amateur cryptozoologist.
His hands go to his guns, holding onto them. He's not ready to point them at Mike yet, but...]
I have a job, too. Your job is to go back to...back to wherever it's safe! Your hideaway and stuff! C'mon, dude!
no subject
Wrong. My job is to protect the camp, and you're welcome to try to stop me. I guarantee you won't succeed.
no subject
Get back to safety, or I'll open fire.
no subject
I'm not a defenseless kid. I belong here in these woods, protecting people who are unable to fight these wolves off themselves, and you need to get out of the way and let me do my job.
no subject
[His hands are shaking a little. Gods, he doesn't want to shoot, but he might have to...]
no subject
[Because right now he's pretty sure he can shoot a lot straighter than this kid can and if Walt pulls the trigger he's going to have to respond.]
no subject
[It comes out as more of a shout than anything, his voice lilting upwards toward the end - but he's taken the safeties off his guns.]
no subject
[Mike didn't miss the safeties going off and he sighs. He didn't want to do this, but... he shoots, aiming for Walt's right hand. Then he's rolling forward with no other warning, trying to knock Walt off-balance and get the other gun before the hunter can shoot him.]
no subject
[Walt jumps out of the way as fast as he can, but now he's firing off two rounds in Mike's very general direction, not even bothering to aim. He just has to show this kid he means business.]
ironically that account IS a werewolf
no subject
Holy shit, dude...
no subject
He had to do it. He was going to get shot otherwise.]
I'm really sorry about that. Maybe you'll think twice about being an idiot next time.
no subject
[He's brought himself down to a crouch now, his hand cupping his injury tightly, trying to make sure nothing worse happens to it. Walt is in so, so over his head right now.]
no subject
[Mike sighs. He can't leave Walt alone in the woods with an injury- blood will probably call the wolves right to him and he'd be defenseless or nearly. He's going to have to get him to the Big House.]
I'm gonna get you somewhere safe.
no subject
[But he doesn't really have a choice, right now. Walt grunts, trying to stand up.]
no subject
[He leans down to help him up, having made sure the guns are still out of reach.]
Try anything and I'll leave you out here for the wolves, got it?
[He doesn't think Walt's the type to try pointless heroics, but you never know.]
