Who: The entire camp + special guests.
What: Wolves have broken through the camp barriers!
When: Late Wednesday January 29 into early morning on January 30
Where: Various camp locations.
Why: Some canines think they can show Camp Half-Blood who's boss.
It starts with a scream.
The evening harpies, better known as camp's alert system for kids who are out past curfew, have some news for everyone, flying through the camp and shrieking through cabin doors to wake everyone up if they're asleep. (Unless, of course, you're untrained and too young or incapable of fighting tonight. Demeter cabin will be your place of refuge.) After the first call to duty, campers have risen to the occasion with their various plans and promises, patrolling the border and building weapons specifically for their new enemies. The Full Moon passed with only a few howls, much to the surprise of many.
No, these wolves have other plans for the New Moon. Aligned with Gaea and followers of Lycaron, they're a group of six renegades looking for a show and perhaps a tasty snack. One of them just so happens to be in the business of fussing with the Mist, undoing someone's hard work to let in her comrades.
They've got bared teeth, blood on their nails, and a penchant for chaos. Camp, it's time to wake up.

Scipio was already on edge, she could tell as soon as she led him out of his stall. But he knew what was going on. Grabbing the gladius she left at his stall, she strapped it to her back and climbed onto the pegasus to ride him bare back.
Her Legion was trained well enough to know to fall into discussed formations-- to remember their training no matter what. She and Scipio chose instead to patrol the grounds from the sky, calling out orders at anything out of the ordinary she noticed.
She would not see a second camp fall.]

Bring Reyna down here.]

How's everything going down here?
no subject
[She took no credit herself. All she did was get him to move backwards.]
no subject
How many know about it? Aside from you and probably Gale? And do we have cause to worry that someone unaffected by silver might be able to free it
no subject
[Gale, as far as she knows, has no idea.] It's a heavy cage- I can see if I can ice it down. [Her control over water didn't extend to ice. But it was cold out. If she did it slowly enough, they could get ice.]
No one's gotten near.
no subject
[She licks her lips and glances around.]
How many injuries that you know of?
no subject
Quite a few- we're used to fighting monsters and other humans, wolves, werewolves are different, even with Lupa's training. [She gestures to a cut on her arm in the break of her armor. That would get healed up decently quick enough.]
I'm worried about some of the less-experienced Legionnaires.
no subject
A nibble for yourself, find the Legionnaires that need it most and distribute it.
I'll do a few rounds of the area to check up on everyone...
no subject
[And sometimes, those qualities lead to stupid things.] But I'll make sure to distribute it. Thank you, Praetor.

Be careful, Annie. Is there anything else I can do or look into for you at the moment?
no subject
[She shakes her head.] No. I just wanted someone else to know about the captive, just in case. [She pauses for a second.] It was Gale's trap.

Good luck.

He swooped over to make sure his half-brothers were getting out there before making a sweep of the camp, riding the winds, before circling once more towards the forest as he spotted a familiar pegasus in the air. He flies towards it.]
Reyna. Are we needed anywhere in particular?
no subject
But she didn't dare linger on those ridiculous thoughts, not when there was something more important at hand.]
Annie led her cohort in, I just got done speaking with her... Gale's trap snared a werewolf, but there are several injured legionnaires. I've been trying to bring ambrosia to the ones I've found and I gave some to Annie with the same instruction.

[He sounds surprised, but the expression quickly turns to one of pride. If anyone was going to ensnare a wolf it was going to be a Roman.]
But sounds like we have a lot injured and some hunting of our own to do.
no subject
[But she looks just as proud, glancing from him down to the woods again and nodding her head.]
Injuries are bound to happen, but it's best that there are no major ones that have been brought to our attention just yet.
no subject
Good.
[Because it was good news and that was what he wanted to hear.]
I'm sure Ven and John are offering air support where they can as well. If we're going to go into the forest line though we'll need to drop lower for visual.
