Who: The entire camp + special guests.
What: Wolves have broken through the camp barriers!
When: Late Wednesday January 29 into early morning on January 30
Where: Various camp locations.
Why: Some canines think they can show Camp Half-Blood who's boss.
It starts with a scream.
The evening harpies, better known as camp's alert system for kids who are out past curfew, have some news for everyone, flying through the camp and shrieking through cabin doors to wake everyone up if they're asleep. (Unless, of course, you're untrained and too young or incapable of fighting tonight. Demeter cabin will be your place of refuge.) After the first call to duty, campers have risen to the occasion with their various plans and promises, patrolling the border and building weapons specifically for their new enemies. The Full Moon passed with only a few howls, much to the surprise of many.
No, these wolves have other plans for the New Moon. Aligned with Gaea and followers of Lycaron, they're a group of six renegades looking for a show and perhaps a tasty snack. One of them just so happens to be in the business of fussing with the Mist, undoing someone's hard work to let in her comrades.
They've got bared teeth, blood on their nails, and a penchant for chaos. Camp, it's time to wake up.

She does at least have weapons ready when Derek reaches her, so she's prepared in the event of her cries calling something unfriendly to her.
But for the moment, she is lucky, and when she sees him she runs toward him, knives tucked back away so she can gingerly touch his fur, trying to look for damage on a body she really doesn't have all that much understanding off, anatomically speaking. It's a lot of blood on her hands. She gets right to business.]
There are hunters in the camp. Human hunters. Allison Argent brought them and they're not going to discriminate between you and Lycaon's followers.

So when he sees her, he circles around her first, eyes scanning everywhere before he stops directly in front of her. Her touch causes small flinches in muscle, but he doesn't snap for it and his expression remains fairly straight as he breathes heavily.
But then she's speaking, and his ears swivel backwards as it almost seems like his brow furrows as he angles his head to catch her gaze. Like he's making sure he heard that right. ]

I saw them. They were all over the cabins, and some may be in the woods already. Allison brought them here to avenge her mother - I guess werewolves must have killed her. She said something about it being a family tradition.
You're going to need to hide. Or change. Something. I wanted to warn you because I don't think they're going to care that you're a Roman, too.
[She takes a breath.]
So show me how I can help keep you safe.
[Her. Keep him safe. The idea is possibly laughable.]

He shakes his head, confirming the end of her explanation. They're not going to care at all, especially the moment they get a look at him. A wolf with blue eyes? Doesn't matter if he's a teen, doesn't matter that he's fighting these interlopers. Hell, he wouldn't be surprised if they tried to attack Lupa's pack.
Moving around, he starts nudging at her, careful of the blood on his snout and the still-healing gash there. But he crowds at her back, urging her forwards. Go, we need to go. He knows these woods better than the hunters do, he thinks he can avoid the traps that have been set by them and camper alike, and if he can get into the camp itself it'll be even better. ]

[And then she's finding herself nudged, herded even, and rather insistently too.] Okay, okay.
[The woods are in fact laden with traps, but two sets of eyes are better than one, and Lydia had a hand in the design and placement of some of them. There are worse people Derek could be moving through the woods with.
It does take her a few moments to realize his intent though, as they head in the direction of camp. She keeps her voice soft; a hiss.]
What are you doing? If you go into camp the hunters will get you!

But when they get closer to the camp, he makes a small sound in response to her realization. There's no annoyance or anger to it, but it's not exactly as if he can tell her his intentions when he lacks the capability to.
So he just levels a look at her, a soft whine leaving him. One, unless she has ambrosia in her possession, there's not really anywhere else they can get it. Two, she needs to be out of the woods, regardless of his own safety. ]

I think I can make it to Apollo Cabin and back. I can get something so you can heal. Can you wait here for me?
