What: Wolves have broken through the camp barriers!
When: Late Wednesday January 29 into early morning on January 30
Where: Various camp locations.
Why: Some canines think they can show Camp Half-Blood who's boss.

It starts with a scream.

The evening harpies, better known as camp's alert system for kids who are out past curfew, have some news for everyone, flying through the camp and shrieking through cabin doors to wake everyone up if they're asleep. (Unless, of course, you're untrained and too young or incapable of fighting tonight. Demeter cabin will be your place of refuge.) After the first call to duty, campers have risen to the occasion with their various plans and promises, patrolling the border and building weapons specifically for their new enemies. The Full Moon passed with only a few howls, much to the surprise of many.

No, these wolves have other plans for the New Moon. Aligned with Gaea and followers of Lycaron, they're a group of six renegades looking for a show and perhaps a tasty snack. One of them just so happens to be in the business of fussing with the Mist, undoing someone's hard work to let in her comrades.

They've got bared teeth, blood on their nails, and a penchant for chaos. Camp, it's time to wake up.

[The board is all set up, he gets the pieces ready, then he hands her the die.]

Here, you can go first.

There should be a purple one. Purples the best.

[It's her favorite color first. She shakes her hand when she takes the dice.]

You're s'pose to roll to decide who goes first!

Yeah, but... [Darnit.] This is my fort, so I say you get to go first?

{Naomi puffs her cheeks out, and normally she might argue.

But she's got no energy for that, so instead she rolls the dice and moves her piece.]

... D'you think Candy Land's a real place?

[moointhedark]

[He takes his turn, brow furrowing in thought.]

I think so. If gods and werewolves and stuff are real, then Candy Land's gotta be a real place too. It'd be kinda weird if it wasn't.

We should go on a quest to find it!

[That's not exactly how quests work, but okay Naomi. The idea does make her smile, though, mind already whirling with what Candy Land was actually like.]

We could see if Sky wants to come too, though we might have to explain it to her.

[It may not be how quests work, but it's how they should.]

Yeah! And that's okay if we have to explain it to her; everyone should know about Candy Land!

We might have to get a pegasus or something to get there, though.

[Totally should. It's how she would run a quest.]

We should see if she wants to play with us later.

Mmmmm, do you think it'd be high up someplace? Like on a mountain made out of ice cream?

Is she out fighting right now? I haven't seen her around, so I was wondering...

[He's worried about her, but she's also a robot. Charlie is 100% sure she has lasers she can use against the werewolves.]

Maybe... And maybe it's guarded by a licorice dragon or something cool like that! Bet we'd have to fight it to get into Candy Land!

I hope not... She shouldn't be fighting.

[Automaton or not, Sky was there age. Or technically younger. Naomi frowns and takes a moment to crawl out of the fort to survey the area for her.]

I don't see her...

[And Naomi's back to being worried, and not even talk of licorice dragons can repel that.]

I don't want to fight.

[Crud. Crud crud crud. He's said something wrong again. He reaches for her hand, trying to tug her back into the fort.]

You don't have to fight 'cause I'll fight for you! I got my slingshot and stink bombs and stuff, so I'm armed. I'll keep you safe, I promise.

[She looks at him, using her free hand to rub her eyes while the other holds onto his hand.

Be brave, Naomi. Brave.]

But what 'bout you? Someone's gotta protect you...

'nd- 'nd I can be strong too. I can protect you too!

[She's got her - Oh. Naomi left her staff outside the fort...]

[He squeezes her hand, putting on a brave smile.]

I got my brothers and sisters and Ep to keep me safe, so I'm pretty covered, I think.

And we can protect each other! Like the buddy system!

I've got my siblings too, and my big brother back home!

[Man oh man did she wish Kou was here.

Nodding she let's go of his hand only to hold up her pinky.]
