Who: The entire camp + special guests.
What: Wolves have broken through the camp barriers!
When: Late Wednesday January 29 into early morning on January 30
Where: Various camp locations.
Why: Some canines think they can show Camp Half-Blood who's boss.

It starts with a scream.

The evening harpies, better known as camp's alert system for kids who are out past curfew, have some news for everyone, flying through the camp and shrieking through cabin doors to wake everyone up if they're asleep. (Unless, of course, you're untrained and too young or incapable of fighting tonight. Demeter cabin will be your place of refuge.) After the first call to duty, campers have risen to the occasion with their various plans and promises, patrolling the border and building weapons specifically for their new enemies. The Full Moon passed with only a few howls, much to the surprise of many.

No, these wolves have other plans for the New Moon. Aligned with Gaea and followers of Lycaron, they're a group of six renegades looking for a show and perhaps a tasty snack. One of them just so happens to be in the business of fussing with the Mist, undoing someone's hard work to let in her comrades.

They've got bared teeth, blood on their nails, and a penchant for chaos. Camp, it's time to wake up.

[He sighs a little bit and motions to her, starting to walk.]

I don't fight in these things. I find the poor saps who got banged up pretty bad and pull them out of it, back to Apollo Cabin or the Big House or whatever. And I need help, bad. My quickest partner in crime's babysitting today.

[And he gives Eponine all the props in the world for that, because he knows she's got two kid siblings at home she'd give the world for - and admit it or not, she's good with kids. But the fact of the matter is that he's out here.]

[ she sizes him up for a moment, eyebrows arched, but she does, eventually follow him. her arms dangle by her sides and she really wishes she had a cigarette right now - more for the image than the nicotine. ]

Let me get this straight, you want me to play nurse in place of your friend?

[He shakes his head, his eyes scanning the area for potential wolf victims or what have you.]

More like play ambulance. Way cooler.

[ no flashing lights, but come on. give her a break. she stops, suddenly, not having bothered looking for any traces of anything (anyone) just yet. ]

What do you want? Because I have a sad amount of vegan Twinkies and other unholy oddities in my cabin but I also have serious chocolate. If you have a food vice I'm pretty much your guy.

[ p-p-p-poker face. ]

Coffee, [ she tries, after a moment. ] And music. I miss dancing.

I have chocolate covered coffee beans, that's the best I can do for you right now. But Dionysus cabin throws sick parties sometimes, and I'm a damn good dancer.

[If anything, he can always IM one of his kid cousins back home and have them blast something for her.]

What is this, junior prom?

[ did he just ask her to dance with him. what is even-

she eyes him for a moment. all in all, she does want to be in the throe of it, but she'll take the aftermath and what spoils may lie in it. ]

No. Not junior prom. Technically I'm graduating this year - or at least, would be.

[He so did.

He's speaking to her as he's running, of course, debating the values of going invisible at a time like this.]

Oh, my mistake. [ said almost flippantly. ] The rest of us are delayed too, okay.

[ she's not running, though she's not meandering, either, peeking around trees until she hears somebody cough and whips her head around in the darkness. ]

Y'know what's the worst part? I can't even tell if I'm happy about it or not.

[He sighs a little, scratching the back of his neck.]

Not even one. You'd think a camp being attacked by werewolves would...y'know, need human ambulances.

You could just drop out, you know. [ which are, in fact, her plans, if things continue as they are. it was meant to take her to hollywood, not here, but still. ]

But it's not exactly as if the fight's over, is it?

Eh, I don't know. I kind of like the crew I roll with back home, y'know? Most of them are younger. I'd wanna at least graduate with them.

[Even if one of them is his crazy ex.]

No way - far from it, it seems like.

And you're still trying to tell me that missing a year isn't working out in your favor.

[ a year, or longer. audrey doesn't know yet. she's been here a month and a half, okay. ]

Okay, so we've got time. Let's use it. [ said sternly, as though there surely have to be some things to be taken care of. and wandering around in the woods isn't the smartest way to do things, invisible or not. but then again, audrey's not the one with the experience here. ]

[There's a little snort.]

In that respect, I guess it is.

[But to be honest, Gabriel doesn't really know what to do when he's not sneaking around pulling poor saps to safety in a combat situation. Yeah, he's trained, but only with a dagger, nothing long range. He sighs.]

Are you good with a bow and arrow?

[ she looks up with him, the tiniest hint of a smirk on her face. ]

I can be.

[ meaning that no, she's never used one in her life, but if it gets her into the action and gets her experience and a way to be impressive - if it gets her attention, she will make an attempt. ]

Then- c'mon.

[He grabs her by the wrist, obscuring them from sight, to go towards the armory.]

Maybe you can knock a few of them down from up high.

What - hey! [ she attempts to wrench her wrist free, but whether she's successful is questionable. either way, she trudges along after him, because really. it's either this, or wander around in the pitch black. alone. with wolves.

[It's good that she's smart like that. A lot of people would fight against being taken invisible pretty much without even asking. Gabriel could keep her around.]

I think there might be aiming involved, too.
