Who: The entire camp + special guests.
What: Wolves have broken through the camp barriers!
When: Late Wednesday January 29 into early morning on January 30
Where: Various camp locations.
Why: Some canines think they can show Camp Half-Blood who's boss.

It starts with a scream.

The evening harpies, better known as camp's alert system for kids who are out past curfew, have some news for everyone, flying through the camp and shrieking through cabin doors to wake everyone up if they're asleep. (Unless, of course, you're untrained and too young or incapable of fighting tonight. Demeter cabin will be your place of refuge.) After the first call to duty, campers have risen to the occasion with their various plans and promises, patrolling the border and building weapons specifically for their new enemies. The Full Moon passed with only a few howls, much to the surprise of many.

No, these wolves have other plans for the New Moon. Aligned with Gaea and followers of Lycaron, they're a group of six renegades looking for a show and perhaps a tasty snack. One of them just so happens to be in the business of fussing with the Mist, undoing someone's hard work to let in her comrades.

They've got bared teeth, blood on their nails, and a penchant for chaos. Camp, it's time to wake up.

[And Naomi does not understand why that's such a big deal. Which is exactly why she reaches over to one of the candy bowls set up and fishes out two tootsie pops, offering one to Eponine.]

They... they were? [This was new information.] Who? What did they tell you about it?

[She happily accepts the tootsie pop.]

[Naomi blinks, taken aback by this.]

Ummm, well Tai was. So was Gabriel, 'nd Dave went to the Big House a lot so I figure he must've been visiting you!

They didn't tell me much? 'Cause I didn't ask since Tai told me you were sick!

[ospreyed]

[She stuck the now unwrapped tootsie pop in her mouth.]

Wait, you know Dave, too? [She smiles at his name.]

[Naomi's not exactly sure what she did to be called a doll but she gives Eponine a bright smile.]

Yeah! He was my first friend when I came to camp 'nd he's always watching out for me. He's um, kinda like my brother? But I never told him that so I don't know how he'd react...

[There's a shyness that comes with that.]

How do you know Dave?

[Eponine nods slowly. Sounds like Dave, to be honest.] Well, I think he'd be flattered. But I won't tell him, your secret is safe with me.

[And as for how she knew Dave... She gestures for Naomi to lean it.] Can you keep a secret?

Okay then. And you're the only person I told, so if anyone else hears this, I'll know you ratted me out. [Well, Gabe knew. But he wouldn't say anything, if he liked his balls intact.]

But Dave... [Whoo boy.] Is my boyfriend. [And she kinda has to smile at that.]

[Naomi's eyes widen and she briefly forgets everything that's going on.]

Your his girlfriend? Really? Since when? Have you guys kissed? 'Cause kissings gross! 's how you get cooties, but I know the cootie shot if you want it. Oh, oh, oh! Are you guys gonna do something for Valentine's Day?

[ospreyed]

[Oh no. But hey. She's distracted.

Eponine grimaces.]

Since January? Yeah, we've kissed a few times... Just wait till you're older, you won't find it quite so gross. So I think I'll pass on the cootie shot for now.

I donno know what we're doing for Valentine's Day. I don't really celebrate it.
