Who: Dean, and other participants in the competition
What: marksmanship competition!
Where: the archery range
When: backdated to March 8
Warnings: violence against innocent targets?

There are targets all set up at different intervals, and more waiting by the sidelines. It's come to Dean's attention that certain parties may end up being a little on the destructive side for this competition, so he wants to be prepared. Not to mention there are apparently going to be some other showboats coming out this afternoon.

Dean would like them all to bring it.

This being his own competition, he steps up to the plate first, gun in hand. There are very few misses, and most of his shots are tightly clustered on the targets. Beat that, Apollo cabin.

It's more than enough information, and she feels lucky that he is even divulging these details to her. Constantly, she worries about how much trust he puts in her and this is reaffirming.

"My dad and I are - we're still recovering from mom's ... " she trails off, needing a moment. It still pains her that she couldn't have been there to say her last goodbyes. "It's not the same, I know. But I understand how you might have felt."

He nods a little bit, an arm sliding around Allison's shoulders. It's gotta be really hard for her, too. Her mom's...not coming back, wouldn't even have a chance to change like his might.

His wouldn't. But it's the principle.

"Hey, no." He rubs her shoulder a bit, thumbing softly. "It's important, Allison. I'm glad you're talking about it." Even though they're both not saying much, he gets it.

"I probably should more," she admits, leaning into him, knee bumping his affectionately.

"Maybe if I talked more, I wouldn't have ..." Her lips from a thin line, dimples acting like parentheses on her face. "You know. But! That's behind me. I'm getting better."

"You are!" He agrees, patting her on the knee. And it's true. Allison's opened up to him a lot, and...he knows it's tough, doing that sort of thing. Hell, he's got a new secret to keep now that he's not willing to divulge to everyone and their mom just yet. He runs a thumb over her kneecap a few times, quietly, before perking up and asking her. "Um. Have you worked on Diana's curse yet?" Artemis, Scott, it's Artemis. "Sorry. Artemis. Can you...y'know?" He mimes shooting an arrow.

"I think it's wearing off, actually. It helped that Elizabeth and Lydia have more or less forgiven me," Allison murmurs, her eyes focused on the next set of archers at the range.

"I can hold my ring daggers. I have to wear bandages when I use them now, but they're pretty effective. I can keep them next month when I meet you out in the woods." Because like hell is she going to stay away whenever he changes. "Jean Prouvaire definitely threatened me. As did Nico. But more people like me nowadays."

"I don't know either of those guys, Jean Prouvaire or Nico - wait, I think that's Derek's brother, actually, but I've never talked to him. But, um...I'm gonna keep my eye out for them." Because the last thing he needs is someone trying to hurt Allison, especially when the fighting back she could do wouldn't be fair. He stares off at the archers, contemplating everything. It scares him a little bit how willingly he'd rush to her aid, but he's trying to put the past behind him. Allison has...really helped him. There's trust here.
