Who: All campers!
What: A game of Capture the Flag.
Where: The Forest
When: September 20, 7 PM sharp. Dinner will be served once a team wins.
Why: It's time to work together as a team. Again.

[Mr. D is waiting at the edge of the forest, and Chiron's trotting behind him with a list, inspecting the lines of equipment and making sure all the helmets and breastplates are available and clearly marked for which team they belong to. As each camper shows up to the meeting spot, the centaur ticks them off the list - it's an attendance sheet. Once Chiron's given him the signal, Mr. D begins speaking.]

Let's do this quickly, shall we? This week for Capture the Flag, we're going to be doing things a little differently. It's come to our attention...

[He glances skyward - yes, Hera has been riding him about this lately.]

...that we should do more to integrate the new campers we are hosting at Camp Half-Blood, and make them feel as if they have a home. That being said! This week, you'll be divided differently into teams rather than by cabin, and our captains will be the Roman praetors, since they know all about commandeering armies. Chiron here has done his best to make sure each team has a nice mix of all of you in it, so if you don't like who you've been teamed up with? Don't come crying to me.

The RED team will be headed by Praetor Jason Grace. He'll have the following team members: Alcuin Delaunay, Annie Cresta, Charlie Miller, Dave Strider, Ferb Fletcher, Emile Joly, Gabriel Novak, Heather O'Toole, Johnny Mason, Leo Valdez, Maya Matlin, Mike Warren, Natalie Goodman, Reynaud de Courfeyrac, Sadie Kane, Scott McCall, and Ventus Bradford.

The BLUE team will be headed by Praetor Reyna Rivera. She'll have the following team members: Anna Neumeyer, Bay Kennish, Daenerys Targaryen, Dean Winchester, Eponine Thenardier, Hazel Levesque, Hermione Granger, Jean Prouvaire, Karrin Murphy, Margot Sullivan, Merida of Dunbroch, Millie DeWitt, Ron Weasley, Saralegui Sargon and Sky Smith.

Now. Here are the rules, since I really don't want to see any of you getting maimed out there.

1) No killing. I cannot stress this enough. Lupa's pack lives in the forest, and she's told me she's having them all keep a watchful eye on you in case things get too intense. That being said, if you try anything, there is a very hungry group of wolves that you'll have to answer to.

2) No maiming, either. Chiron is going to be in there as well, working as a medic, but neither he nor I want to see any arms getting chopped off!

3) Absolutely no friendly fire. This is about working together as a group. I'm sure the praetors will stress this to you.

4) All weapons and magical items may be used -

[Chiron cuts him off midway to say 'Ms. Targaryen, put the dragon on your back away.'

Mr. D gives an exasperated sigh and continues.]

All weapons and magical items may be used in this game. Hannibal will be roaming the forest as well, so you're free to use him for...whatever it is that you Romans do with him.

[Yeah, thinking about his time as Bacchus makes his head hurt, so he's just going to Ignore It.

Once everyone's back in their positions after getting their helmets and protective gear, Chiron calls the game on and goes galloping off into the forest.]

[He likes to think he's got good ears, he really does. He's the son of a communication goddess - he's got to. Couple that with being invisible a good half of the time, you need to be aware of your surroundings and how loud you - or others - are.

But he's off his game today, majorly. First he's put to sleep by that Hypnos counselor, and now he's thinking about what he said to Reyna the other day about the technicolor dreamchiton. Damn, that was a good line.

[Oh, Gabriel. You poor swot. You can't be off your game in Eponine's world. You being off your game is basically the same thing as you being in dead. Or jail.

With a grin, she flicks her wrist, bringing up one of her knives. Once she's certain she gets a clear shot, she throws it. With any luck at all, it will pin his foot to the ground for a few minutes before it returns to her. Which should be enough to slow down the flag's main guard.]

*So... if you failed to realize there's a blonde, in a tree, who really hates you this is on you in Eponine's world? Good to know. She didn't line up her shot before the knife was thrown... but she had a clear shot at Eponine's leg. Which, of course, is fair game.*

*Oops, did Maya accidentally use one of her bronze tipped arrows and not a Hydra snare Arrow? Her mistake.*

[Okay, so the knife does slice against Gabriel's foot, and leaves a pretty deep gash. That's what you get for wearing Birkenstocks to run around in the first, Gabriel. He hisses, closing his eyes - because damn, that hurts.

Wait, he knows that knife.]

Eponine?! I forgot you were on-

[And then the arrow comes flying, and he looks around for the source. Enjolras is on Red, too. Maybe, for some reason, Frenchie's got his back after all - and then he spots her, mouthing 'Maya?' in her direction.]

[Eponine was about to blow Gabriel a kiss when the arrow hit her in the calf. Swearing through clenched teeth, Eponine reaches down and tears the arrow out. Oh god damn it. Bronze tipped. Whoever shot that her was very very dead.

Extremely dead.

Oh. Hello there, Maya. Good to see you over in yonder tree.

The knife she tossed at Gabriel back on her fingers, she pulls another one out, steadying herself against the tree. With a grin, she tosses it as she brings up another one, launching it shortly after the second one, both flying towards the source of the arrow. Once both have cleared her hand, Eponine's grabbing on to the next branch of the tree, hoisting herself up further, where it's harder to see where she is. From there...

She should be able to get into another tree no problem.]

*Maya didn't even wait, once Eponine had spotted her Maya hopped out of the tree putting the trunk between her and that vile bitch she'd just attacked. She smirked behind her tree as she pulled a green fletched arrow.*

Sorry about that, I meant to grab a different arrow. This whole game is new to me, you know?

*Children of Apollo shouldn't try to lie, but Maya really didn't care. She thought she'd feel good, causing that bitch hurt... but her real desire was to punch that smug face of Ep's. Fortunately she had an ~~app~~ arrow for that.*

[And then the daughter of Hermes is off into the trees, where Maya is. Usually, he'd be right there with Eponine, but he's on Maya's team today. He hisses to her.]

Maya, look out.

[Oh, she wanted to laugh at Maya's lie. There was no way in hell it was anything but the truth. Her leg smarting, she keeps her eyes on Maya, and Gabriel. Light as a feather, she's having no trouble in the tree. The problem will be getting down with her leg like this.

Note to self: next time, bring ambrosia.

She's got another knife out quick as can be. And as much fun as it would be to go toe-to-toe with Maya... She's got a mission to complete.

Smirking, she throws the knife again, putting enough of a spin on it that instead of stabbing Maya through the back of the neck, it would hit her at the base of her skull and with any luck, knock her out. The second the knife leaves her hand, she's reaching out for the branches of the next tree, swinging herself over into that one.

Being 90 pounds was certainly beneficial when it came to climbing trees.]

*Maya kept an ear out, Gabriel yelling wasn't really helpful on this one. Mostly because Ep was tiny, and her actions hushed, even with a wounded leg. Fortunately Maya's not about to let anyone get behind her again... not unless she wants to make herself a target. Maya drops, spins, and lets the knife pass above. Next she takes stock of Eponine's location, aim... and loses her arrow.*

*The arrowhead exploded into a small boxing glove mid-flight and flew right past Eponine as if she wasn't the target at all. ...Shattering the next branch Eponine would want to take hold of. Maya's already pulling a Hydra to shoot and snare the bitch.*

If you've had worse then you can help! I don't want that bitch to have the satisfaction of getting that flag, or escaping.

She knows my tricks! I don't know if I can help, but I'll see what I can do!

[Yeah, Gabe knows he's not helping by being loud, but Maya's so far away at this point, and it's not like Iris kids can control sound. He's always wanted to , but they're closer to Apollo kids on the light spectrum than the sound side.

He makes his way over to the tree Eponine's in, watching her carefully, and starts climbing, shimmying up the trunk.]

[Damn it! She was going to grab that branch. Okay. Fine. If that's the way they're going to play it... Eponine glances down in time to see Gabe working on getting his way up the trunk.

With a wolfish grin, she moves back to the trunk of the tree, into the cover of the leaves, and waits until Gabriel is up far enough. Then, using the branches to support her, she swings down, legs hooked around a branch, her head level with Gabriel's.]

Call the bitch off. [She whispers, her lips just centimeters from Gabe's ear. As she's speaking, she's reached an arm around him, knife poised against his throat.] And I'll make it worth your while, Gabriel. [Her tongue dances along the outside of his ear.] There's no honor in killing a girl who isn't even wearing armor.

*Shit. That was the absolute last thing she needed was Eponine having a hostage. Even if death wasn't on the table, and from what she knew those two were friends. Or at least, as close as that bitch got to friends. Which given the knife at Gabriel's throat means enemies would be easier.*

*Maya stepped out from hiding, bow drawn and ready, hydra ready to snare down that sadistic bitch the moment there's a clear shot. Maya knew this was a bluff, but it's more fun to let Eponine think Maya's caught up in the game.*

Let him go and I won't give you a lobotomy with an arrowhead.
