CAPTURE THE FLAG
Who: All campers!
What: A game of Capture the Flag.
Where: The Forest
When: September 20, 7 PM sharp. Dinner will be served once a team wins.
Why: It's time to work together as a team. Again.
[Mr. D is waiting at the edge of the forest, and Chiron's trotting behind him with a list, inspecting the lines of equipment and making sure all the helmets and breastplates are available and clearly marked for which team they belong to. As each camper shows up to the meeting spot, the centaur ticks them off the list - it's an attendance sheet. Once Chiron's given him the signal, Mr. D begins speaking.]
Let's do this quickly, shall we? This week for Capture the Flag, we're going to be doing things a little differently. It's come to our attention...
[He glances skyward - yes, Hera has been riding him about this lately.]
...that we should do more to integrate the new campers we are hosting at Camp Half-Blood, and make them feel as if they have a home. That being said! This week, you'll be divided differently into teams rather than by cabin, and our captains will be the Roman praetors, since they know all about commandeering armies. Chiron here has done his best to make sure each team has a nice mix of all of you in it, so if you don't like who you've been teamed up with? Don't come crying to me.
The RED team will be headed by Praetor Jason Grace. He'll have the following team members: Alcuin Delaunay, Annie Cresta, Charlie Miller, Dave Strider, Ferb Fletcher, Emile Joly, Gabriel Novak, Heather O'Toole, Johnny Mason, Leo Valdez, Maya Matlin, Mike Warren, Natalie Goodman, Reynaud de Courfeyrac, Sadie Kane, Scott McCall, and Ventus Bradford.
The BLUE team will be headed by Praetor Reyna Rivera. She'll have the following team members: Anna Neumeyer, Bay Kennish, Daenerys Targaryen, Dean Winchester, Eponine Thenardier, Hazel Levesque, Hermione Granger, Jean Prouvaire, Karrin Murphy, Margot Sullivan, Merida of Dunbroch, Millie DeWitt, Ron Weasley, Saralegui Sargon and Sky Smith.
Now. Here are the rules, since I really don't want to see any of you getting maimed out there.
1) No killing. I cannot stress this enough. Lupa's pack lives in the forest, and she's told me she's having them all keep a watchful eye on you in case things get too intense. That being said, if you try anything, there is a very hungry group of wolves that you'll have to answer to.
2) No maiming, either. Chiron is going to be in there as well, working as a medic, but neither he nor I want to see any arms getting chopped off!
3) Absolutely no friendly fire. This is about working together as a group. I'm sure the praetors will stress this to you.
4) All weapons and magical items may be used -
[Chiron cuts him off midway to say 'Ms. Targaryen, put the dragon on your back away.'
Mr. D gives an exasperated sigh and continues.]
All weapons and magical items may be used in this game. Hannibal will be roaming the forest as well, so you're free to use him for...whatever it is that you Romans do with him.
[Yeah, thinking about his time as Bacchus makes his head hurt, so he's just going to Ignore It.
Once everyone's back in their positions after getting their helmets and protective gear, Chiron calls the game on and goes galloping off into the forest.]
[OOC NOTE: I have not included any characters currently on hiatus in these team listings! If you'd like your character to be included, please PM the mod account!]

Hopefully now that Leo was on the other side, they could disable her.]
no subject
But... isn't this how I play?
*Her hammerhead shot back, chain coiled inside as it attached back to the bronze shaft that was her weapon. This was why people worked with each other, it was easier when you had a river to assist your advances.*
no subject
[ Thank you, Annie! Now if only Sky would give him an opening. He's watching for one as he backs toward the trees. ]
no subject
Here's the great thing about water connected to the ocean: there is a shit ton of it and then some. As such, when Sky steps back, Annie pursues her with the jet, forcing her back further.]
no subject
*Technically, it's still attached to a chain, so it was more of a swing, possibly a launch. Sky was pushed further from the water's edge. And she realized a truth about this fight, the terrain was not her friend, but at the same time Leo was bound too.*
I might not be properly trained to fight, but you told me you don't like to fight. The child of... Poseidon cannot protect you if you cross the water and stray from the field of influence. I can stop you without the interference.
*Sky spun her hammer, about six inches of chain connected the head. She was preparing for another offensive move.*
no subject
[ Magnets. He's got to have a powerful enough magnet in here to short-circuit her, just for a little while, or at least hold the hammer down. He digs in his tool belt's pockets for one, keeping as close as he can to the creek while still trying to reach the trees. It's stupid, and it doesn't really work, but he tries. She does have a point, after all.
...Bingo. He pulls out a decently sized portable electromagnet, barely managing to wiggle it out of there. At the very least, this should be able to catch the chain next time Sky swung it past his head.
If this doesn't work, there's always fire. Leo never did tell her about that. ]
no subject
But for now, she'll keep pressing on Sky until the girl gives up.
no subject
But... trying to short me out with an electromagnet doesn't? What about your friend in the tree, attacking me with water, those don't count?
*She looks so hurt... like she might cry. Oh, and your electromagnet is making is making an unfortunate popping noise, smoking, and several key elements have burned out from Sky just feeling that betrayed. Good job Leo.*
no subject
I swear I wasn't trying to short circuit you! And it's not like the water will hurt you - you're waterproof!
[ All he wanted was some way to get the hammer away from her. Leo glares at the electromagnet in frustration and drops it, sighing. He didn't want to do this, because it really is a great weapon, but after a deep breath to steady himself, he holds up his hand like a gun, and a clean shot of white-hot fire shoots straight for it the chain. If he can at least weaken it enough, the chain will break if Sky tries to throw it again. And the fire shouldn't affect her, either; it's all condensed tightly into one straight shot that would only hit the place it's aimed at. ]
no subject
If she didn't have such great reflexes, she would have probably fallen from the tree in shock.
Leo has fire. Well then. She'll have to talk to him about that, later.]
no subject
*Sky used her hammer to deflect some of the water blasts, doing her best to avoid taking any of those anywhere that is especially vulnerable to blunt force trauma. When it comes to the gout of fire? She just blocks the stream of flame with her left hand. Entirely unphased by the heat and flame, as Leo would need to increase the heat a great deal to deal with her skin.*
*Sky kept a defensive stance, there wasn't an opening she could use. So she had to wait. Next time, she would be more prepared.*
no subject
Why did they send him over here again?
He isn't sure where his team mate is, exactly, but Leo glances up at the trees.]
Annie, can you hold her here with less force?
no subject
She doesn't say anything, but instead, releases the water pressure, but still does her best to hold her in one spot, water on three sides of her now.]
no subject
*The force of the chain winding back into the hammerhead worked like a saw and cut through the branch in moments, but it was enough distance to get her out of that trap. A design flaw she would need to work on with the next upgrades. She landed on her feet, smiling.*
That was really fun!
no subject
Might as well give this one up now and try to do what he's supposed to, so he turns and makes for the trees. ]

*Although she should figure out a way to stop her brother, he is the bigger threat at the moment if he has Festus on call.*
no subject
But she's still a threat, and he's wants to take her out of commission before taking off in search of the flag. ]
