HALLOWEEN PARTY

Who: The entire camp!
What: Mr. D has moved up his festival of Apokries to coincide with Halloween! It's time to party! Where: All around the camp!
When: Thursday, October 31st
Why: Because, why not?

It was decided earlier in the month that to coincide with the holiday of Halloween, and to give campers a bit of fun after all this nonsense, that Mr. D would be holding his festival of Apokries early! As such the entire camp has been decked out in all sorts of spoooooky decorations.

It's as though a carnival has been set up over night, with music and food all around. There are satyrs and nymphs handing out candy at cabins (smarties for Athena, warheads for Ares, ect.) for any people wanting to trick or treat,  and campers running around in costumes. 

The ampitheatre has once again become a designated dancing spot, and Apollo might have returned to DJ, the arena miiiight have been transformed into a bit of a Haunted House (with special thanks to Hecate), and Demeter has set up a corn maze for campers to navigate through! 

It's time to have some fun!

[Oh good. Liquor. He puts two of those in his mouth and has to take a moment before answering.]

I'm... tired. But I suppose being out here is better than being alone in the cabin.

[He sighs a bit]

What would you like for Christmas?

[unstinting]

[He blinks, surprised by the question.]

Isn't it too early for that?

It's two months away!

[unstinting]

I don't really want anything.

[Besides things that are utterly impossible or currently unachievable.]

What do you want?

More notebooks, but Mama gets me three every year so...really, I don't know. Something interesting?

[unstinting]

I'll see what I can find, then.

[He offers Jehan one of his chocolate cordials for now.]

I may write everyone a poem for the holidays. Would you like that?

[unstinting]

I would love that.

[He smiles- an actual, real smile.]

Better than anything, I think.

Great! And of course you'll get actual French pastries, Mama's already said she's sending over her recipe book in the next mail delivery so I can treat everyone.

[unstinting]

It sounds like you have everything planned.

[He eats another chocolate.]

I'll have to think of something nice for everyone.

Candy?

[unstinting]

Aren't we getting enough of that now?

[shylyintrepid]

There is no such thing as too much candy.

[unstinting]

You clearly don't live in Cabin Ten.

[shylyintrepid]

No, I live in the cooking cabin. Well, at least, I am the cooking cabin. I got Maman's skills with food, what can I say?

[unstinting]

At least your mother has useful talents.

[shylyintrepid]

Aphrodite has useful talents, too. You helped me calm John down, after all.

[unstinting]

I don't think it's right, forcing people to feel things that way.

[He crumbles his muffin some more.]

But I suppose it is useful.

[shylyintrepid]

Maybe not forcing them to feel certain things, but it does have its benefits. It can stop people from hurting themselves, or hurting you, or hurting others. That's no different than a sedative.

[unstinting]

It is different.

[He sighs.]

But I'll do it if I have to.

[shylyintrepid]

Only if you have to, okay? And only if there's no other option.
