Who: The entire camp!
What: Mr. D has moved up his festival of Apokries to coincide with Halloween! It's time to party! Where: All around the camp!
When: Thursday, October 31st
Why: Because, why not?

It was decided earlier in the month that to coincide with the holiday of Halloween, and to give campers a bit of fun after all this nonsense, that Mr. D would be holding his festival of Apokries early! As such the entire camp has been decked out in all sorts of spoooooky decorations.

It's as though a carnival has been set up over night, with music and food all around. There are satyrs and nymphs handing out candy at cabins (smarties for Athena, warheads for Ares, ect.) for any people wanting to trick or treat,  and campers running around in costumes. 

The ampitheatre has once again become a designated dancing spot, and Apollo might have returned to DJ, the arena miiiight have been transformed into a bit of a Haunted House (with special thanks to Hecate), and Demeter has set up a corn maze for campers to navigate through! 

It's time to have some fun!

THE CABINS

[There are candy stations set up at each cabin, and nymphs and satyrs are handing out candy themed to each cabin. Get into your costumes and go trick or treating!]

[Jehan is dressed up as Puck, complete with shirtlessness. He's passing out candy rose petals and candy apples.

He doesn't get this holiday, but he does get sweets and costumes, so he's enjoying himself]

[Dany's taken it upon herself to help out the satyrs near the Hephaestus cabin that are handing out Red Hots by corralling some of the younger campers towards the cabin. Eventually, though, she decides to join them, seating herself on the grass. She's matching Jehan today, dressed as the fairy queen Titania from A Midsummer Night's Dream.]

[There's a part of Scott that's still really, really sort of worried about what he's about to do. And it took a lot of convincing to get him to do it at all.

Because right now, he's waiting in the Nike Cabin, and there's definitely a wig on his head. A woman's wig.

And he's so not leaving without Heather unless he's convinced, or Stiles. Though he gets the feeling that Stiles is going to be making jokes about this for years.]

[It may be the satyrs and nymphs that are handing out candy, but Annie doesn't mind taking over the job for them in front of Posiedon cabin. At Percy's insistence, the candy, salt-water taffy, is blue. All flavors and shades of blue, but certainly blue.

Annie, meanwhile, is uncreatively dressed as a mermaid. She's woven shells and sea weed into her hair, and is yes, even wearing a sea-shell bra, though she's got a finely woven net on as a shawl- gods forbid anyone see her arms.]

[Percy Jackson has been dressed by his girlfriend, it's pretty obvious - he never would've been Aquaman if he'd had any choice in the matter okay maybe he would've been if they'd been able to get a large superhero group together but he still thinks the costume is pretty stupid. At least he looks good in orange, and he is carrying the trident, though he didn't bother to dye his hair. Seemed like kind of a lost cause seeing how extreme the color change would have been.]

[But he can be found making the rounds of the cabins - over and over again, for as long as the nymphs, satyrs, and Jehan will let him, because why? Free food. His ability to put away ridiculous quantities of food is semi-legendary at camp, and it's a trait that's only gotten worse since he has the Curse of Achilles to fuel as well. But not only that, it reminds him of when his mom used to work at the candy store and she would bring him back a bagful of "free samples." Even if those were the days with Gabe, memories of his mother are always good.]

[ Okay, someone said something about horror movies. So guess who's set up a projector on the side of Cabin Eleven to show all the best, classic monster movies?

Dean, that's who.

That's him there, lying back on the hood of the Impala to watch with a bag full of candy. And yes, before you ask, that is the bag of candy they're supposed to be handing out, filled with whatever deliciously unhealthy things the little thieves here could get their hands on. He's also... eating the candy. Better hurry up if you want some, trick-or-treaters. ]

*Once Sky was sure she understood what was going on, the question turned to what Sky should wear. It took some time, but Leo finally came up with something. They spent an evening repurposing some armor into the right shape, painting it, and painting Sky for the day. They considered making her silver skin but they didn't have the time to do that.*

*Leo decided Sky should be the Tin Man from Wizard of Oz. She had a hatchet, oil can, and creaked when she walked around. She was very proud of the creaking sound. Lots of candy to pick from, she'd find out things she didn't like the taste of!*

( So, thanks to Cabin Twelve's kickin' equipment for parties, it's all decked out for the occasion: the fog machine's running strong (and sometimes Johnny breathes in too much of it and nearly hacks up a lung) and the sound system's playing an eerie soundtrack of various spooky sounds to add to the overall ambiance (Johnny jumps almost every single time the stupid feral cat meow comes on out of seemingly nowhere -- one would think he'd be used to it after the maybe fiftieth time, but no). Yes, Johnny, clad in his hastily put together Killjoy costume, has been relegated to candy duty tonight, which he's pretty cool with since gods know that creepy weirdo Gabe would probably rather freak out some innocent little campers elsewhere instead.

So, stop by at Cabin Twelve for some chocolate-covered strawberries (thanks, Daddy-o), wine gums (pretty much gumdrops), and bottle caps, which were Johnny's witty -- or so he thinks -- idea. )

[Naomi has been running around all evening, trick-or-treating and investigating all the things going on around camp. It reminds her so much of back home, and yet she's not feeling homesick.

Originally she had planned on dressing up as a dragon again, but at the last minute she changed her mind. So Naomi is walking around as Atalanta, having fashioned a toga out of bed sheets and a fake spear out of a stick (because no way was she going to run around with a real spear). She's carrying a plastic pumpkin as well, and it's already half full with candy.

It's safe to say she'll be on a sugar high by the time the night is done. Someone's going to have to carry her back to her cabin when she eventually crashes and falls asleep somewhere.]

THE ARENA

[As said, the arena has been transformed into a Haunted House by Hecate herself, though whether it's all really there or just a trick of the Mist or magic is anyone's guess. What horrors await you in here? Come inside and find out...]

[ With all of Natalie's issues with her birth mother, she sure does not disappoint this Halloween. She's waiting out front, at the entrance to the haunted house, donning a cozy Max from Where the Wild Things Are costume.

Though she's not letting on, she's more than happy to play tour guide to those a little too nervous to enter the spooky arena. Not everyone has a stomach for her family's brand of spooks after all. ]

THE ARENA

[As per John's insistence,, the three Jupiter boys are geared up in full jumpsuits and light-up backpacks as the Ghostbusters. They didn't go so far as to figure out which one of them would be who, but it didn't really matter because seriously Ghostbusters. It's a lot of kids' childhood dream come true.]

[Ven is outside the Arena, staring up at it, wondering if he wants to go in. He's not afraid of scary stuff, but he's also not really into it, so he could honestly do either one.]

Anywhere, Anytime

[Nico is feeling decidedly mixed about his costume. He's not the one who picked it out, but, well, he has to admit it's appropriate. Not to mention he has nothing wrong against Jack Skellington.

It's just. Really? Really? The Ghost King is now the Pumpkin King? Gods. He swears it's a never ending joke and he really wishes it'd stop.

At any rate, this son of Hades can be seen skulking around Camp and being his unsocial (read: wallflower) self.]

[Dave told Naomi he was going to dress as Santa, so that's what he's doing. She'd warned him about the possibility of being kidnapped 'like in that movie' and so, upon seeing Nico as he makes his own way casually through the camp, Dave can't help but let out a short guffaw behind one hand.]

[guess who didn't even bother with a costume? at least he has the whole Hypnos laziness thing to use as an excuse -- people are much more likely to leave him be with just that than if he were to admit he just didn't feel like dressing up like an idiot.

he didn't really feel like interacting with any sugar-high, costumed campers either, but all the festivities were a bit too loud for him to just lock himself away in his cabin and ignore it. and nico wasn't too bad, from their brief conversation.]

*Bay can't believe Nico came up with that idea, not that he wasn't smart. But the joke of the outfit played better if someone talked him into it. Bay's outfit is currently a female version of Ashley "Ash" J. Williams from cult classic Evil Dead. Her hair looks a bit shorter and her shirt isn't quite as ripped up for her own personal modesty... even if her outfit is 100% illusion and she's fully dressed under it. Hence her not shivering.*

And I would have figured you'd hide a bit more tonight.

THE AMPITHEATER

[After he saw how popular it was at the last dance, Apollo insisted on coming to Dionysus' festival to DJ and take some of the work off his hands. So he's converted the Maserati into a platform again and is blasting music from a state of the art sound system.

Mr. D is still standing by, just in case. This is his festival, after all.]

[Sadie is so glad her business with Carter and everyone finished before the party started. She's not overly big on Halloween but she adores costumes. She's dressed as "the wife of Anubis" (who apparently actually exists according to the myths, but as far as anyone's told her Anubis was single until they met, so). Black sheath dress, all her jewelery and charms, khol, and she even dyed her streak black tonight. She's got a pair of small scales hooked on her belt and a stuffed jackal sitting on her shoulder.

She's not dancing right now, but she is considerably cheerier than the last party at camp.]

[Guess who is dancing. Eponine is dancing. Eponine is actually dancing in five-inch heels, a cat-suit, and cat ear goggles. That's right, she's joined the Batman Villians crew as Fantine Selina Kyle.

It's safe to say that she's a little drunk, and that is more than okay with her. It's the way she should be spending tonight, of course. So come dance with her.]

*Maya sat in the corner, listening to her father DJ. She figured being around her dad, who might... already know, would be better than trying to have a good time. Somehow a camp full of little tiny decoration ghosts wasn't helping her mood, who would guess.*

*Still, she had music around her, that was more than enough for her for the moment.*

[Mike is dressed up as a pilot. Because who doesn't love a man in uniform? He'll probably check out a few of the other areas, but why not dance a little first?]

THE CORN MAZE

[The corn maze is near the Archery Field, and is both intricately designed and full of little traps. Will you venture through it and try to find your way out?]

[ Wonderbeth Chase is raring to go at the entrance to the corn maze. She'd heard of a little request for the corn maze and had been curious to see the results.

Judging from the yelps she can hear from the outside, it seems to be successful.

So, who needs a daughter of Athena on their side? ]

THE CAMPFIRE

[As always, the fire's lit, and it's roaring high, since spirits seem to be up today as opposed to the past two weeks. There's still marshmallows and all the fixings for s'mores, though there's considerably more chocolate than usual, and someone has circled the pit with Jack O' Lanterns.]

[Tybalt, in true theater kid smartass form, is dressed as Tybalt Capulet. He wasn't going to dress up, but a chat with some of his friends back home convinced him that he might as well. He's got the doublet, the shirt, the hose, everything. He's post-murder, however, so he's also bloody and pale.

He's just sort of chilling on the edges of the campfire right now]

ANYWHERE, ANYTIME, ALL AROUND CAMP

[So while you campers are off doing various activities that the camp has to offer tonight you might notice an interesting pair walking around.

That pair would be one nymph dressed as Sally from The Nightmare before Christmas and a satyr dressed as Zero to accompany her. It's safe to say that this is all Tai's idea and Maria is just tolerating it. The original plan was to go around as Jack and Sally but~ Well, they managed to rope Nico into doing that. Even if he's currently MIA.
