Who: The entire camp!
What: Mr. D has moved up his festival of Apokries to coincide with Halloween! It's time to party! Where: All around the camp!
When: Thursday, October 31st
Why: Because, why not?

It was decided earlier in the month that to coincide with the holiday of Halloween, and to give campers a bit of fun after all this nonsense, that Mr. D would be holding his festival of Apokries early! As such the entire camp has been decked out in all sorts of spoooooky decorations.

It's as though a carnival has been set up over night, with music and food all around. There are satyrs and nymphs handing out candy at cabins (smarties for Athena, warheads for Ares, ect.) for any people wanting to trick or treat,  and campers running around in costumes. 

The ampitheatre has once again become a designated dancing spot, and Apollo might have returned to DJ, the arena miiiight have been transformed into a bit of a Haunted House (with special thanks to Hecate), and Demeter has set up a corn maze for campers to navigate through! 

It's time to have some fun!

[He looks over at him, frowning.]

Yeah? You haven't been up to being around people a lot lately, I've noticed.

[unstinting]

I'm glad everyone's having a good time.

[He shrugs and licks his fingers.]

I know I've been an awful counselor lately. Someone else should probably take the job.

[dandylicious]

Hey, no... Nobody's perfect.

[Finishing his s'more, he turns to face Alcuin completely.]

You haven't been awful, just a lot's on your mind. No one can blame you.

[unstinting]

[He smiles a little.]

Still... I feel like someone who isn't so preoccupied would do better.

[dandylicious]

With everything that's going on right now? We're all a bit preoccupied, and if we're not? We're daft as hell.

[Not naming any names... but... some of their sisters, perhaps...]

Look, we let someone else take your job as counselor, our cabin will lose track of what's really important and go back to being that vapid cabin no one takes seriously.

[unstinting]

I can think of at least one cabin member who wouldn't let that happen.

[And yes, he means you, Reynaud.]

[dandylicious]

[He pauses... and there might be a faint blush-- naw it's just the fire's glow-- before he replies.]

Like hell they'd let me be counselor. I'd come crying to you half the time something happened.

[unstinting]

I think you'd be good at it.

[He smiles encouragingly.]

But if you don't want to, it's all right. I'll just make everyone start doing weapons training on my schedule, no matter what it does to their hair.

[dandylicious]

Ah-- thanks.

[He's still kind of spluttering at the compliment. He's not used to compliments like that... Just being told he's pretty.]

How about I totally back you up on what you choose to do? Like... Co-counsel or something?

[unstinting]

If you could help, I would adore you forever. Not that I don't already, of course.

[He summons a laugh.]

[dandylicious]

[Oh... He's glad to hear him laughing again, smiling at that a bit.]

Of course I can help... Or I can try at least.

[unstinting]

[He looks relieved.]

We'll see how it goes. You'll probably have more patience with the silliness right now anyway.

[dandylicious]

Anything you need, promise.

[There's only a few people he makes that promise to... But when he makes it, he means it.]

Yeah... I mean, most likely.

[unstinting]

I see you didn't get roped into being Ken either.

[He snags Courfeyrac by the collar to tug him down to sit.]

They bothered me all last week about it.

[dandylicious]

Despite what they think, I'm not cut out to be Ken.

[He chuckles as Alcuin tugs at the collar around his neck and sits with him.]

Jehan suggested I'm already catlike enough that I should just be a cat.

[unstinting]

I should have known it was Jehan's idea.

[He is very smart.]

Though I'm surprised you're not as shirtless as he is.

[dandylicious]

I decided to try and keep it PG for most of the night-- Because the moment I lose this shirt I'm definitely calling myself a sex kitten.

[He looks far too amused with himself as he stretches a little.]

[unstinting]

You are ridiculous.

[But actually succeeding at making Alcuin smile, so there's that.]

[dandylicious]

Thank you... It comes naturally, I don't even have to try.

[And score at making him smile! That makes it all worth it.]

[unstinting]

Do you think anyone else will agree with you on the sex kitten thing?

[He is willing to let Reynaud distract him for now.]

Who wouldn't? Pretty sure I've made out with at least a quarter of the camp... More if we don't count the non-Greeks.

[He's good at distracting. It's when it comes to actual comforting that he kind of sucks.]

[unstinting]

A quarter? You've certainly done the cabin proud.

[Alcuin was saving his lips for a certain someone and now thinking about that has made him sad again. Oops. He keeps his smile in place, though.]

Give or take... I can't figure out if that's me being generous or modest.

[He nudges Alcuin a little, glancing back at the fire.]

[See what he did there?!]

[unstinting]

Well, I'm glad you're picking up my slack.

[He nudges him back with arched brows at the extremely bad joke.]

Yes, I'll have s'more.

[dandylicious]

I do what I can.

[But with another grin he, reluctantly, gets up with a "be right back" and goes to make a few more...

Returning a few minutes later with a plate of several.]

So neither of us has to get up again if we don't want to.
