HALLOWEEN PARTY

Who: The entire camp!
What: Mr. D has moved up his festival of Apokries to coincide with Halloween! It's time to party! Where: All around the camp!
When: Thursday, October 31st
Why: Because, why not?

It was decided earlier in the month that to coincide with the holiday of Halloween, and to give campers a bit of fun after all this nonsense, that Mr. D would be holding his festival of Apokries early! As such the entire camp has been decked out in all sorts of spoooooky decorations.

It's as though a carnival has been set up over night, with music and food all around. There are satyrs and nymphs handing out candy at cabins (smarties for Athena, warheads for Ares, ect.) for any people wanting to trick or treat,  and campers running around in costumes. 

The ampitheatre has once again become a designated dancing spot, and Apollo might have returned to DJ, the arena miiiight have been transformed into a bit of a Haunted House (with special thanks to Hecate), and Demeter has set up a corn maze for campers to navigate through! 

It's time to have some fun!

Not particularly. I don't eat much candy, and I don't care enough to put in the effort for a costume, so what's left?

Not much, I don't think. I'm not the best person to ask about that, though. We didn't do Halloween in my family.

[And he doesn't think they got much of an opportunity to try it.]

You're doing it now, aren't you?

[much more subtle subject changes away from the family stuff. yaaaay.]

I'd be wary of trick or treating here, though. Who knows how closely they're sticking to their themes for that candy, after all?

I know for a fact that the Hermes kids are just going to mug people for their candy. Cabin 13 might be safe enough, if you like dark chocolate.

I'd try it, but I doubt they'll give me any without a costume. And I don't even know what my cabin is giving away, but I can't even guess what would be thematically appropriate -- short of actual roofies or something, but I doubt even this camp would go that far.

[maybe just something sugar-free, but then anything's possible.]

I'm pretty sure Chiron wouldn't be happy if that was the case. My cabin will hand out candy to anyone, costume or no. It's pretty lax.

[Nico will make sure of it, anyway.]

[No he's not. He'll stubbornly deny being sweet.]

Yeah. Melinoe, goddess of restless spirits. She comes out of the Underworld at night to terrify mortals. Luckily, she wasn't in a mood to kill us, so Norman and I had a talk with her, and she's left the Camp, now. I don't think she's coming back.

[Nico doesn't look to happy about describing that particular goddess. Then again, he never is when it concerns her. Using his mom's face to try killing him is a pretty fast way to make him hate someone.]

[that raises his eyebrows, because really, problem solved and there wasn't even an announcement or anything? and also...]

You just "had a talk" with a goddess and got her to leave?

but it's still a good thing, and while he's careful to keep his expression and body language completely neutral, he can't quite keep the appreciative note out of his tone.]

[Not yet, he's been busy coming to grips with Melinoe having children.

Nico shrugs, not sure what to do about people praising him other than being slightly flustered.]

[the corner of his lips quirks upwards slightly at that, but he's nothing if not observant. he's hardly gonna tease you for getting flustered when you just did something helpful.]
