Who: The entire camp + special guests.
What: Wolves have broken through the camp barriers!
When: Late Wednesday January 29 into early morning on January 30
Where: Various camp locations.
Why: Some canines think they can show Camp Half-Blood who's boss.
It starts with a scream.
The evening harpies, better known as camp's alert system for kids who are out past curfew, have some news for everyone, flying through the camp and shrieking through cabin doors to wake everyone up if they're asleep. (Unless, of course, you're untrained and too young or incapable of fighting tonight. Demeter cabin will be your place of refuge.) After the first call to duty, campers have risen to the occasion with their various plans and promises, patrolling the border and building weapons specifically for their new enemies. The Full Moon passed with only a few howls, much to the surprise of many.
No, these wolves have other plans for the New Moon. Aligned with Gaea and followers of Lycaron, they're a group of six renegades looking for a show and perhaps a tasty snack. One of them just so happens to be in the business of fussing with the Mist, undoing someone's hard work to let in her comrades.
They've got bared teeth, blood on their nails, and a penchant for chaos. Camp, it's time to wake up.

THE ARENA
WEREWOLF HERE COME AND GET HER
She's not sure how she wound up in their arena--someone had let off a stink bomb and distracted her. This was the path of least stench so she followed it, growling lowly]
SLAMS INTO
The problem with that is that he catches his scent in the worst way possible, the sweet tang of blood that pulls on his senses harder than anything else. It makes his hackles rise, fur along his spine standing on end as he rushes straight into the arena.
And then sees the other wolf. ]

She hears Derek approach and smirks, turning around to face him. There's blood--Scott's blood--on her hands and around her mouth]
Oh, this is rich. They've got one?
no subject
Where is he. If she's bitten Scott, left him somewhere-- ]

If you're worried about that abomination of a demigod, he's over by the tree. Or his body is. I don't know if his kind can take the bite.
[She rolls her neck]
Wonder what'll happen if I bite you.
[She leaps at Derek, transforming into a sleek black wolf]

She attacks first, but he springs forward to meet her, jaws opened wide. This isn't going to be an easy fight, and he knows it, but there isn't a bone in him telling him to run instead. ]

Karrin followed her into the arena.]

[Lora turns around before she gets to the arena, looking down at the girl]
You don't smell like a demigod.

By all rights he shouldn't have followed her. Even not knowing Murphy well, if she really was a reincarnated valkyrie she probably could handle herself, and besides he had his own part to play that didn't involve her.
Because leaving a young woman on her own when monsters were roaming because she wasn't his responsibility or could benefit him was just the sort of logic that would make DuMourne proud.
Harry only hesitated a second before slipping into the dark after her, though he stuck close to the wall and didn't quite head for the arena yet, letting his eyes adjust to the dark and scope out the situation.
Hearing a voice full of menace echo from down the hallway Murphy had gone, Harry was hoping he'd made the right call.]

I'm of the Aesir.
[She stands straighter. She may be five nothing but there is a steely look in her eyes. Karrin raises the gun.]
That's a lot of blood your covered in. That wouldn't happen to be of a demigod's would it?

He spots one of the wolves heading towards the arena. Taking a deep breath he draws his sword, muttering a phrase beneath his breath out of habit. Hey some people have prayers, he has a weird quote.]
Embrace your dreams, and whatever happens, protect your honor as a soldier...
[Those were Angeal's words, and oh boy did he wish his mentor was here right now. But he wasn't so Zack can only steel himself as he enters the arena.]

Here to avenge your little friend, bastard?
no subject
[His blood runs cold.]
What have you done!?
no subject
[She grins, mouth still bloody]
He's either dead or one of us by now.
no subject
[His voice comes out small, eyes widening. No. No he had just seen Scott this morning and-
And an anger bubbles to the surface, Zack grits his teeth, readjusting the grip on the hilt of his sword.]
You son of a-
[He doesn't finish the insult, the curse turning into a battle cry as he charges forward.]

A dagger, Anna, will not protect you from werewolves. But she seems to think that it will... As she makes her way to the Arena, at least, to pick up another weapon that she has no clue how to use. These are the jerks that are keeping her from going to find her sister, the reason she's stuck in this camp instead of making sure Elsa is okay.
Which is not okay with her at all.]

Anna? What are you doing out here?
no subject
I'm going to help.
[Duh, Flynn. What does it look like she's doing?]
no subject
[Gosh Anna.]
no subject
[.... Anna, you don't even know where the armory is?]
no subject
I can take you there, but first you'll have to answer my question. Why do you want to fight?
