I was dead when I woke up this morning [closed]
Who: Gabe Goodman and Annie Cresta
When: after Percy's campfire meeting
What: A message to deliver
Why: Because Gabe is a shit
Warnings: fffff...mental illness, extreme bullying, abuse, threats of violence, blood...you know what just don't read it. Just go draw a rainbow or something. (edit to add: threat of sexual violence)
Gabe told the friends he was walking with that he'd left something by the campfire and would catch up. Instead of going back, he ducked into the woods and picked his way through quickly until he could see out, but no one was likely to spot him. It helped that the plants didn't mind his presence, helping to obscure him a little. He watched intently for Annie's passing, sending her a strong impulse to go check out the woods. Was that a horse out there? Was she lost? Annie should come get her and lead her back to the stables.

Without glancing around, Annie headed into the woods, ignoring her previous distaste for it- ever since she'd seen Briley- trying to follow the voice. "Hey, it's okay, boy. It's Annie- Are you lost? I can help you. Just stay where you are, and I'll come find you."

"Scream and you'll be screaming when you die," Gabe promised her, voice low. "Understand?"

She whimpered under Gabe's hand. She knew what this was about. She shut her eyes, preparing for the worst.

"Look at me," he ordered. He had his chin tilted up a little, a malicious little grin on his mouth as he looked down his nose at her.

Annie shrunk back against the tree again as he grabbed her, forcing her eyes open as she looked at Gabe in the moonlight. He looked like a demon, even without the horns. Summoning up her bravery, she spit at him. "Let me go."

He grabbed her wrists and remembered, in a flash, that he could do whatever he wanted and she didn't have to be visibly injured when he was done. So he pinned her wrists down to the ground, ankles locked over her knees so she couldn't kick. He was so used to being violent with his mind, but it felt good to be violent with his body. He wrapped a hand around her throat, but didn't squeeze. Not yet. "Apologize."

His hands were significantly bigger than her bony wrists, keeping them pinned easily, though she tried to struggle out from under him. This was bad, and there was only one thing that came after this in her mind. Crying, she fought against him, shaking her head even as he wrapped his hand around her neck. "No." She told him firmly. She didn't have to apologize. He needed to apologize. For doing this to her. For doing this physically to her.

She grit her teeth, before thrashing harder, trying to get him off. "Fuck you."

"You shouldn't make promises you won't keep, little Annie," Gabe said with a grin. She was asking for that, saying 'fuck you.' "I think you better apologize, or I might keep it for you."
no subject
"Please- please don't," she whimpered, trying to curl up around herself. But he was holding her fast.

"If you say a word to anyone about me, you really will die screaming," he promised. "And you'll beg me for it before I'm done. Understood?"

"Didn't. Didn't say anything! Won't. Promise."

"Sleep," he ordered, manipulating her mind to feel tired, so that sleeping would feel like the only thing worth doing.

The order fell on her ears, and she had no choice but to obey, closing her eyes, letting her head loll forward as the adrenaline left her body, leaving her to sleep.

He took her clothes off her and tossed her into the creek, long enough for any bruises or scrapes he'd left to heal before they ever rose. He had to put her clothes back on her wet, not wanting to risk the time he'd have to take to dry her, but she was drier than she'd have been otherwise. It just looked like she'd gone for a quick swim. He carried her to the edge of the woods and left her there, then, letting her wake and get home naturally, already formulating the story for the case that anyone had seen him.

With Annie unconscious, she was unable to look perfectly dry as she otherwise could after going for a swim. Shivering in the cold November air, it didn't take her long to wake up, the memories of what had just happened flooding back to her. With a stifled sob, she considered staying there, unable to move. But a cold wind off the ocean was enough to remind her, to gently urge her to her feet as she began the long trudge back to her cabin, Gabe's warning ringing in her ears.
