Who: Eiji, Artemis, and Ankh
What: Eiji had a dream. His gloves and belt are somewhere in America, and he needs those if he's to wield Mjolnir at some point
When: April 10th-April 14th
Where: Well, it'll end at Parsons (a fashion design school)
Why: People need their stuff.

Chiron was a little unsure about this "quest"--there had been no prophecy and their Oracle couldn't actually offer one. Perhaps it had something to do with the dream coming to Eiji himself. Either way, the only help Rachel could offer was clarification of where, exactly, they would be off to. They would find the gauntlets and belt at Parsons Fashion Design School on 5th Avenue in downtown New York City.

It's with little fanfare the Eiji and his companions head off, though people are still invited to see them off and welcome them home when they return.

[Artemis is feeling pretty well about his preparations for the quest. He's got his cellphone, the funds they might need just in case, some drachma for emergency IM's or just to tell Chiron whether they're going to be late, and back-up plans are running in his head. His pack has a first aid kit, since he's still not totally trusting that consuming nectar and ambrosia won't kill him. The teen feels that he's as ready as he'll possibly be.

Also minus a weapon. Who needs a weapon when you've got Thor as a meat shield?

This kid will be found on his way to meet up with Eiji and Ankh at their agreed rendezvous point. He's not exactly expecting someone to wish him farewell.]

[He's getting someone anyway. Sort of. Tybalt falls into step with him silently]

And how many plan Bs are you coming up with?

[He'll take a Tybalt. He appreciates his humor.]

Dozens. It's not as if we're going up against the security found at Fort Knox. Getting in and out of a prestigious fashion university should prove to be child's play, but I won't take any chances of, shall we say, mythological involvement. So, no definite contingency plans just yet.

I know Tim Gunn no longer works for Parsons, but I would like an autograph on the off chance that you do see him. [ Natalie, being as relevant as always, appearing out of thin air as one does. ]

What exactly did he dream about, do you know? Was it just like, oh yeah, my godly swag is in Manhattan??

[Yes, well, he expects no less from Natalie.]

I shall be happy to do so for you. To answer your question, he told me it was mostly blurry, but he got the impression that what he needs is there. The only thing truly clear about it is the name of the school, which he saw.

[Rhys wouldn't miss a chance to wish his fellow Norse well on their quest. In approaching Artemis, though, he's half-tempted to just tell him not to fuck Eiji over. He is Loki, after all... but Rhys isn't going to leap to conclusions.]

Good luck. I'm hoping you won't run into trouble, but... here.

[He offers one of his charms, hung on a leather thong.]

[O ye of little faith. Not that Artemis will blame him for going straight to that conclusion, given his background and being Loki.

He takes the charm, examining it before putting it on.]

If we do, I'll have a plan to get us out of it safely. Now, I assume you made this? What does it do?

[She approaches with a determined smile, confident the trio will succeed.]

Artemis! I realize it's not as useful as Rhys' charms, but I wanted to give you something before you left. Both of you.

[A pair of linen pocket squares, the runes reprenting Loki and Thor have been stitched on them in green.]

They're for luck, with my best wishes, for whatever they're worth.

LEAVING CAMP

[Eiji was pretty excited and more than itching to get on the road. He wasn't one to stay in one place, and the fact that he'd taken residence anywhere concrete for this long was a miracle. They weren't going very far, but it would still be nice to get out.]

[Also he was pretty excited to learn about the belt and gloves. Finding them and actually seeing that they were real- well. He was a little nervous, but in a good way.]

[He didn't get much sleep the night before, so he's yawning as he waits in their agreed rendezvous place. What he has on him isn't much, it's a small bag with some necessities, his underwear for tomorrow, and a bit of spare change. It was a lot more than he typically traveled with anyway, but he's sure Art would have given him looks for anything less.]

Hey.

[ Allison smiles upon approach, lifting her hand to wave. She knows that the Greeks and Romans have had certain dreams like this - not really prophetic, but messages from other gods. Knowing another Norse kid had one is somewhat of a comfort. ]

You okay?

[Eiji smiles brightly at Allison and waves back.]

Good morning!

[He blinks at her question but then smiles, nodding.]

I am! I didn't get much sleep last night, I'm afraid.

[Naomi has only spoken to Eiji a handful of times since his arrival but she'd seen his message earlier and well...

Quests were scary.

So Naomi sets out looking for him on the day he and the others are suppose to leave. She's rubbing her eyes sleepily as she approaches, yawning.]

Morniiiing. [Wait. Maybe. She doesn't get the chance to say this very often!] Ohayou gozaimasu!

[They may not have talked much but Eiji is already fond of Naomi. Especially since she'd wanted help with her Japanese. He's extra pleased that she decided to greet him in such.]

Ohayou gozaimasu, Naomi-chan!

You're lucky to get a chance like this. Do us proud.

[Rhys smiles. He's not jealous- anything that helps strengthen the Norse is good. He holds out two of his protective charms.]

Here, one for you and one for your other friend going with you. I've already given one to Artemis.

[Elsa doesn't do physical affection, though she wants to after learning that Eiji will be leaving camp to get something important to him. She wishes she can hug him for luck, but she's afraid that maybe the clothes she's wearing won't be enough to protect him from her ice. Being a teenage daughter of Chione sucks sometimes.

Instead, she'll smile as she approaches her sole companion at Cabin One. She's happy that he's able to get out somewhere. Elsa hasn't failed to notice that Eiji has been getting, pardon the pun, cabin fever.]

Eiji, break a leg out there. I hope you find what you're looking for.

[Yeah, she doesn't wanna jinx him by saying, "Good luck."]

[Having given Artemis is pocket square, it's Eiji's turn, and Mary is quick to offer him her farewell. She's totally confident he'll succeed.]

I made them for luck, though likely Rhys' charms are far luckier.

[In all actuality, Ankh wasn't entirely certain why he was going along. It wasn't like he actually knew either of these humans, and now he was going along with them on some trip to obtain a belt and gauntlets that had once belonged to a God. A God whom one of their party members happened to be a reincarnation of.]

[Okay so maybe that was a lot of the reason he was going along.]

[He didn't lose sleep over the quest like Eiji had (though you had to sleep at all for that), and he certainly hadn't gone out of his way to be extremely and overprepared like Artemis. He just perched at the rendezvous point without a care, hoping that this decision wasn't a mistake.]

Hey, Ankh!

[You know. He doesn't know this guy hardly at all, and usually that's not a problem with him, but there's something about him he can't figure out so he waffles between being amused by him and being wary.]

[He hopes at least, that on this quest, he might learn something about him.]

[Eiji approaches where he's perched, mentally laughing at how much of a bird this guy was. If Ankh deigns to turn his head towards him, Eiji will toss something small up to him.]

THE QUEST

[It's not that far from camp, so everyone was expecting them back in a day or two.

That's never how it works out, though, so naturally they'll be got a full four days]

[Eiji felt like maybe getting a ride into civilization was a bit of cheating. Honestly he was looking forward to just trekking through the wilderness, but he supposed his other party members would have loudly protested. Artemis in particular. Ankh would have just turned into a bird and left him, he's pretty sure.]

[Either way he's sitting in the middle of them in the back seat of Argus' vehicle, fidgeting with the rune Rhys gifted him.]

Are we almost there?

[This may be the one singular thing that Ankh and Eiji can openly and actively agree on. Surprisingly enough, Ankh would have preferred foot travel to this. ...but that's also mostly because it wouldn't have been foot travel for him, he'd have just turned into a hawk and flown. And probably laughed at Eiji's feet.]

[Instead he was in a van with two near-strangers and a complete stranger, and had spent the entirety of the ride up until Eiji's complaint staring bleakly out the window trying to decide what had possessed him to think coming along on this quest was a good idea.]

[At Eiji's complaint, he barks a laugh.]

You sound like a whining child.

[So after buses, limos, and gods only know what else the three questors are finally near the school. There's talk about the showing of Víli Arnason's latest collection, one of the most promising students at the school. Much talk is also heard of the belt and gloves he apparently designed to go with one of the outfits.

That would be a hint.]

[New York taxi's man. Eiji came out of that experience a changed man.]

[Anyways. Thank the gods for finding the school. He didn't know if he could keep Ankh from plucking anymore ice cream from street stands and he was running out of cash.]

[The talk of a belt and gloves catches his attention, though.]
