i can't believe that we would lie in our graves
Who: Scott McCall and YOU!
What: Aftermath of the werewolf attack.
When: Thursday, January 31
Where: Outside Nike cabin.
Why: It's time for Scott McCall to step into the light again.
[So it's safe to say that Scott McCall's been laying pretty low for a day or so. He's missed Roman training in the morning for the past two days, which he's pretty sure he'll be penalized for, but he figures lots of people were injured in the scuffle (which is a horrible word to use for what happened, now that he thinks about it, what the hell McCall) and -
and it's a little scary for him that the bite that he sustained is pretty much gone now.
No.
It's a lot scary. And he kind of has a feeling he knows what's happening to his body, but he doesn't like it one bit.
There are so few people that know about the whole bite thing, and Scott would really prefer to keep it that way, especially since - well, since he didn't ask for this. He never planned it to happen - he just wanted to keep the camp safe, wanted to keep all his new friends and his family, his legion, his home safe.
He's taking a few steps out of the cabin for the first time, trying to stay slow on his feet. It helps that he's a little disoriented by what he can see, what he can hear now. He's still got bulky bandages on under his shirt, just to keep appearances up. He got to a healer, yeah, but...healers don't fix everything right away, especially on someone who's just a legacy.
And now, apparently, a werewolf.]

[Sadie is barreling down the bath to him, stripe in her hair died an angry red. She stops just short of running into him]
Are you okay? Tybalt told me what happened.
no subject
[Scott blinks a little because - how, how did Tybalt know.
And the red stripe is new.]
About what?
no subject
[Signs Sadie is worried: the British comes out.]

[Okay, Scott was not expecting any of that in the aftermath. Nor did he expect Derek to tell the cat, but that's something he'll have to bring up to his cohort-mate.
He sighs a little, scratching his neck.]
I think I'm one, too.

[After touching bases with Derek, learning what's happened, Zack's been making it a habit of sticking close to the Nike Cabin. He figured that Scott was recovering - how with all that shrieking he didn't know. So he's been sitting by where the camp fire normally is, stretching and doing squats until he sees his friend emerge from the cabin.
Then he's rushing over to him, prepared to offer a shoulder if he gets off-balanced.]
Glad you have you back with us.
no subject
[He laughs a little - okay, he hasn't said anything and he doesn't really know if he should say anything. Because it's not that he doesn't trust Zack, but his brain is all sorts of discombobulated right now.
He does take the shoulder, though. Appearances. He feels a little like Aladdin right now - gotta eat to live, gotta steal to eat, tell you all about it if I got the time. Or something.
But he so isn't sure if he has the time, because he doesn't know when the full moon is and doesn't know if he's going to change before then.]

[He takes the extra weight, wrapping an arm around Scott's waist for extra support while being mindful of his injuries. Frowning he looks at him, then cranes his neck to look around for potential ease droppers. After spotting known he returns his attention to Scott, voice low.]
I'm sorry.
no subject
[He just repeats it, watching and moving with Zack as he does so. He blinks a few times as Zack looks around.]
Um, for what?

But of course she knew he'd been hurt. How hurt, well she wasn't sure, but hurt enough to warrant a lot of rest.
She's watching him from inside the cabin, sitting on the floor surronded by the carnage of her fruitless search. And yeah, her eyes are still red but she'll try pushing that aside for now.]
You okay to walk on your own?
no subject
[He's a pretty sound sleeper, all things considered, and after the stress on his body, on his mind? He kind of needed it. (And the fact that he was recharging his body probably added to how fast the bite healed.)]
Hey, Sojourner. I need to show you something.
no subject
Do I have to leave my nest?
[She's already in the process of getting up, her usual bounce gone.]
no subject
[He gets back in and closes the door, making sure to lock it. And then sits down on the bed next to her.]
Okay, don't freak out. I'm already doing that for you.
[and he rolls up his shirt a little, peeling back his bandages. The skin there is clean, like there was never a bite at all. Nothing a healer could do.]

Scott - Scott, I'm sorry. [ Heather apologizes softly, unusually small and quiet in demeanor. She adjusts her sling before sitting next to him. ] I heard that you - and Allison - and a bunch of stuff.

But he can't not tell her. He can't. He just slides his arms around her shoulders, hugging her close - like he's saying 'it's alright, it's okay, thank you I love you - without even verbalizing anything.]
How much do you know?
no subject
Girl of your dreams pulled out some knives and then left you alone after you came in all aching. 'Cause I got knocked out by one of her hunters. And then she ended it. I - I dunno what really happened after I was taken back.
no subject
[it's hard for him to talk about this, because he feels a little stupid but he really does believe people can change, people have good in them.]
I think it's important, is all.
[Then, quietly.]
I've kinda been asleep for a day or two. I don't really know how long. But...can you stay a while? Gotta tell you something.

You were injured badly last night, Scott. How are you doing?
no subject
[So he knows Annabeth knows he's a legacy, of course, not a full demigod like she is or a good deal of camp, but he's...not quite sure if he wants her to know about his little predicament just yet. After all...there's a lot of stigma about werewolves, whether you asked to be one or not. And after all the books he'd borrowed from her about the subject...well, it might look fishy.]
How're you holding up?
no subject
[ Cue the exasperated sigh. She's had enough of this and she thinks they should deal with it like they should deal with it like they would a multi-headed monster - cut off all the heads. Find all the leaders and offers and capture them. It's a daunting task. ]
You didn't have anything stolen, did you?
no subject
[He shakes his head.]
No, but Sojourner did. She's pretty beaten up about it.

Gods, Scott was bitten. It was his job to protect his cohort-- even if, right now, they number so few-- and he failed that. Laura would've been able to do it, he thinks. She would've been able to keep them all safe and away from Lycaon's wolves.
He couldn't even take down the shewolf that bit Scott. But at least he made sure that she would remember the wolf that sided with demigods.
Scott's scent has already started to change, but he's still easy to track. And as he draws nearer, he works his jaw a little and raises a hand. ]
Scott-- good to see you up and moving.
no subject
[He kind of wonders how Derek is taking all of this, really. Apparently he found out and told that cat guy Tybalt, which is, y'know, great, but Scott doesn't want this. Scott didn't ask for the bite in the first place, let alone...he doesn't want just anybody knowing about it.]
Man, we need to talk. Seriously.
no subject
[ His throat still feels a little raw, but that's what happens when you spend so much time snarling and growling at once. He's starting to scar, fresh and pink, but it'll probably be gone by the end of the week at the latest so he's not particularly concerned. The rumors are more what he's concerned about, and he needs to get Scott away from them before they get out of hand. ]
Somewhere away from other people.
no subject
[So he motions to Derek, slowly, because he's still got a cover story to maintain even if he's with someone who knows, according to Tybalt, and heads toward the only place he knows that he might be safe, because it's where Derek goes - the forest.]
